Frank Lloyd Wright designed a building for his uncle, Rev. Jenkin Lloyd Jones to use as a church. It was renovated in 1978 and now serves as the Abraham Lincoln Center at Northeastern Illinois University.

By the looks of it it’s been there for quite some time, a couple of the old fashioned square head bolts have rusted off.
I’m pretty certain that the obvious error must have been pointed out to University officials many times over the years yet the plaque remains. Even a website devoted to the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright notes the erroneous inscription.
You’d think someone would come along with a can of black spray paint and fix it. I know if a plaque correctly stating that Martin Luther King was a Republican adorned a building, some Leftist would soon deface it.
If you’re ever in Springfield, Illinois and feel a faint rumbling under foot, it’s not an earthquake, just Abe Lincoln spinning in his grave.
