You hear this again and again from the Left, that George W. Bush was a cowboy, that he went into Iraq without consulting anyone and there were no WMDS in Iraq. Even conservative media repeats the erroneous claim that there were no WMDs.

So here is your primer for getting it right, whatever your political stripe.

Bush consulted everyone under the sun, went for multiple UN resolutions and got Congressional approval before he moved.

One thing that people often forget was that it was an element of the cease fire originally signed with Iraq that Iraq allow the weapons inspectors in, a fact they continually skirted.

So it wasn’t just operating on someone’s careless words or a personal “red line” (oh, say, like Obama). It was based on enforcing actual ceasefire agreements, which if Saddam were allowed to flout them, really would put us at risk, not to mention the credibility of the United States.

Further, the belief in the WMDs was across both aisles and with the UN as well. A fact that the left seems to conveniently forget.

Lastly, there most certainly were WMDs. Let’s hear from Warrant Officer Rick Elliot:

Here’s more on WMDS here. But to shortform it, WMDS and residue were being found by US soldiers for years after we went into Iraq. Moreover DNI James Clapper (yes, that guy) testified in 2007 that much of the WMDs had been moved to Syria, as Rick Elliot notes above.

Yes, a good chunk of Assad’s weapons came from Iraq, and Russia helped with the transfer. This is the movable weapons game. Just as the weapons were moved from Iraq to Syria, many of them have now been moved away from known sites in Syria, and some went to Hezbollah before weapons inspectors came into Syria most recently.

I've always said that Saddam either

-Sent as much as he could to Syria, and destroyed/buried the rest
-Destroyed or buried everything out in the desert to spite the US
-Never had much if anything, but ran such an elaborate hoax to fool Iran that it tricked the entire world and it backfired on him
"...And these atomic bombs which science burst upon the world that night were strange, even to the men who used them."  H. G. Wells, The World Set Free, 1914

"The one pervading evil of democracy is the tyranny of the majority, or rather of that party, not always the majority, that succeeds, by force or fraud, in carrying elections." -Lord Acton

Is ole Bette too ignorant to realize that a 757 is a weapon of mass destruction?  Look what it did to the WTC!  The media claimed the Tsarnaev brothers pressure cooker bombs were weapons of mass destruction and people claim Saddam didn't at least have something that big? :bs:

It is SO refreshing to read/hear the TRUTH about the WMD's once in a while.

The leftist template that there were none, and that Bush made it up just to invade Iraq is disgusting.

And it's even more disgusting to see that tripe being repeated by so-called conservatives.

Thanks for posting this, happy!    :patriot:

General Georges Sada confirms that Iraqi chemical weapons ended up in Syria in his book "Saddam's Secrets." As I recall they also used passenger jets also to transfer the chemical weapon stocks. A little trivia note that General Sada was the only Christian member of Saddam's inner circle.

Maybe Bette has trouble reading. If so, here are some photos from Iraq.

Jeff did a wonderful job of documenting them.

Anyone talked to him recently? We are on an FB group together (movies, mainly - Dolly set it up) but not seen him around since his op. Hope he's OK and just busy.

One thing to note - Picture 1 on the top left - that is the standard stencil used by the US Military. Bottom right? UK stencil. Seen enough of both to recognise them in my sleep.
