I am left with two questions.  Does the author find his voice as pleasant in his head as he obviously finds it on paper.  Number two, "So what?".
It's a political parlor game of hypotheticals.  One can almost imagine family members and friends filling a room, stereopticons and fashion of the day.  Slapping of backs and wry rejoinders.
Not a single one of today's "columnists" can be imagined leading the charge through the town square toward victory or lost cause.  This is not the time for finesse, it is the time for fury.
Why?  Well, because I'm a bastard, that's why.
