You're right. I feel a kind of helplessness when I read this kind of thing.
The media won't say a thing because obviously anyone working at the Washington Times is a traitor to the cause.
The public won't know, because they're stupid, and chronically distracted.
Republicans won't say anything, because they see the potential to use this, if they ever get in control again. (That's quite doubtful). Oh, wait, is there a camera around? Darrell Issa is setting up an investigative committee.

I was unaware the Coast Guard had jurisdiction on land, even when a civilian employee is the pseudo-target of a trumped-up investigation.
