Conservative firebrand Ann Coulter thinks the shutdown was “magnificent” and called for more people like Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee to be elected.
“This is why I think the shutdown was so magnificent, run beautifully,” Coulter said Monday on Fox News’s “Hannity” when asked about the troubled Obamacare rollout.
“I’m so proud of these Republicans,” Coulter added. “Obamacare is very unpopular. If you want to overturn it, vote for Republicans. We need to take the Senate.”
Coulter praised the strategy of Republicans who sought to partially fund government as a means to delay Obamacare for a year.
“They accomplished a lot, and it was brilliant how they played it,” Coulter said. “…But there was no point to carrying it on any longer. The lesson that needs to be learned is that we need to elect Republicans.”
The commentator and author also agreed with host Hannity who called for more people like Cruz to be elected. On Cruz’s return to Texas this weekend, Coulter said she would have given him “the same standing ovation” and despite recent polling, which she dismissed, said conservatives should be “proud.”
