A follow up question.

The author includes in the title the phrase, "The World's Richest Country ".  It's a phrase one hears constantly but are we really? Can a country in debt $17 trillion (and growing), whose entire GNP can't even cover in indebtedness be considered "rich"?

I am not so sure.

I am not so sure.

That all depends on how you define "rich".

Is it the sum total of assets minus debts or one of many other possible creative definitions?

Well, I don't define rich as being in debt up to your eyeballs.

Politico classifies this development as a negative for Republicans (of course), but another reading is that it explains a lot when it comes to explaining our "failed cities".
