Horrible acronym, isn't it?

It stands for National Novel Writing Month. The entire month of November is devoted to it. 50,000 words in 30 days.

I do it every year - for fun. It is only 1667 words per day - which is about 37 minutes writing at my normal composing speed of 50 words per minute.

It struck me this year that a lot of people here have stories to tell. So - why not sign up and give it a go? You might fail - so what. No one keeps score. Or you might write something amazing.
Anyone who tells you you can't buy happiness has never been in a book store or an animal shelter.

You are the result of 3 billion years of evolutionary success. Act like it.
