Yep.  We're definitely living in a police state now.  Police departments are largely funded with so much federal grant money and they have become more and more militarized and "gung-ho" in the process.  Not a good thing.

This "shoot to kill" rule has gotten out of hand. It has become over-kill, along with killing innocent people. There are too many times that other options were available. Instead, the perp or victim gets upwards of 20 bullets. Too many cops have become judge and jury.

Do you mean tacit foreign aid to the countries that are "fighting" drugs?  I'm willing to bet most of that money reaches the pockets of politicians in greater numbers than get to people in the field. :castro:
