Liberal Spy - this is what "liberalism" (not "Classical Liberalism") brings about.

You want to be outraged?  Go to any animal shelter, any day of the week.  See the numbers of animals in line to be euthanized.

Fortunately, all our shelters here have a very strict "no kill" policy. For dogs, cats and horses that can not be re-homed (too old, too damaged physically or mentally by years of mistreatment, too ill) we actually have permanent charitable shelters where they can live out their lives in peace.

However, I take your point.

The Orange County government pound, does kill the animals, but the private shelter near my home does not kill. I think it is SPCA.

Volunteers walk the dogs. To adopt they require you have the facility to provide a good home.

Our local shelters, both dog and cat, won't let you adopt unless you can provide a good home and they maintain the right to visit you without notice to ensure you are looking after the adoptee correctly, including logs of vet visits and condition checks. I am fine with that.

We, sadly, can not adopt a dog at the moment. We couldn't give it the attention it needs and it would not be fair on the dog.
