I watched this on his program this afternoon. You know who the ring leader was - though Beck did not name him - Dick Armey. I never trusted Armey and wondered how he got so high up in FW in the first place.  HE was a Trojan Horse...

I have had personal experience with Mr. Armey and found him to be totally untrustworthy and a total snake in the grass!

I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him!

I hope FW is more careful who they associate with going forward.

Beck also said the big money GOP money is still really ticked at Rove for blowing a half billion of their dollars for zero return.

You are correct!!!!

Quote
On December 25, 2012, The Washington Post reported that Armey had escorted Matt Kibbe and FreedomWorks' vice president Adam Brandon out of the FreedomWorks offices with the help of an armed guard on September 4, 2012. Armey reportedly wanted FreedomWorks to support Todd Akin after his controversial "legitimate rape" comments.[21]

Yep... I remembered when this happened.  I think this could also be where some of the confusion about who supported Akin came from - Armey... who is a long time GOPe guy and never belonged at Freedom Works in the first place.  I can remember seeing him on Chris Matthews show during the Bush years and the guy is pure slime.

What's Beck's next big meteoric announcement?  Something that will shake the earth to its very core?

He traded in his addiction to alcohol for an addiction to being a total attention whore.

My first question is - "Why now?"

Why wait until now to release a year old story that was in the Washington Post?

I'm going to repeat my position on why I think Beck should not be doing this now.

For the first time in several years, I see the Republicans (most of them) united in defeating Obamacare.  I believe that defeating, stopping, slowing, defunding, or whatever can be done, is the most important thing they can be doing for the country.

And they need to have us united behind them in opposition to the horror of what this will do to destroy America.

Right now is the WRONG time to agitate for division within the Republican party.

I agree with sinkspur (to a degree), that the timing of this is for attention.  For Beck.

And I don't think it's for the betterment of this country.

Not now.

But it does create a stir and publicity for Beck, and he does seem to need that.

JMHO.

Music Lady they are not united.  The GOP e is being drug kicking and screaming through this and have already capitulated on Obamacare.  This was our chance to hold firm on principle, but the lobbyists are in control, not us.

I know about the division, Rap.  I know who the elitists are.

But I also have heard Mitch McConnell in agreement with Rand Paul about fighting the Dems, and that is what I'm referring to.

You may believe they have capitulated, and all is lost, but the shut down is still going and more people are starting to realize that Obama is at fault.

I heard a series of interviews of students at the U of Colorado as I was coming home today, (listening to the Brian Fischer show), and they almost universally blamed Obama for the shutdown, and said it was because of the horror of Obamacare and his stubbornness.

In spite of everything the media and left is throwing at them, they have held firm against Obamacare, and frankly, I didn't think they had it in them.

I'm not giving up on the Republicans yet.  There are too many good guys to give up.

In fact, as soon as Glenn Beck says that the Republicans are "AS BAD AS" the Democrats, I turn his show off.

It's simply untrue, but he has found a way to get people to listen by playing the role he's playing on this.

I'm just not one of them.

You realize the Democratic Party is not the party for the little people, the poor and downtrodden?  It is now the party of big labor and cronism and they do what they can to keep the poor - poor - and dependent on THEM.  They want everyont to think they are our mommie and daddy and we have to do what they say and in return they will clothe and feed us.

I don't think there is an electable party for the poor and downtrodden. Also, like I said before, I don't support the Democrats.

More to the point......

LIBERALISM (which he espouses) does not help the downtrodden.

It's all a myth, which young'ns have chosen to swallow.

LIBERALISM only harms the poor, while pretending to help.

Conservatism helps the poor, by helping them out of poverty.

What our young spy espouses, keeps them downtrodden.
