Once again, a rump group of Republican radicals in the House are throwing the US government into chaos, threatening a shutdown of federal agencies (unless Obama agrees to smother Obamacare in the crib) that could harm the economy and setting up another showdown over the debt ceiling that could cause a financial crisis that stretches from the United States to markets around the world.

Were the shoe on the other foot, this fool would still be blaming the Republicans for not negotiating w/ 'rightfully elected' Democrats.

What a tool.  He must feel quite superior having an audience that agrees with such stupidity.

Time to ban drinking-water fluoridation...

Last year, the presidential candidate who called for repealing Obamacare, received 59.1 million votes; the fellow who owned Obamacare earned 62.6 million votes.

That might be true, David, but how many millions supported congressional candidates who promised to try to STOP Obamacare versus congressional candidates in support?  Why don't those votes count?

Corn engages in 'democracy-thinking', the tyranny of the majority, when it is to his advantage instead of 'republic-thinking', where minority rights are protected against mob-rule, as our gov't was designed to function.

What's a rump group, and why does it remind me of chuck roast?

By God, you are right.  I just googled it and found more actual votes were cast for House Dems, by a slim margin.

Corn's majoritarian bias prevents him from seeing why. We're a constitutional Republic, not a democracy; a country of laws and not men.

If a majority of voters demanded a ban on political advertising, would it follow that those who opposed it were mere "obstructionists" by its proponents? Would such opponents, too be deemed "radicals" for taking a position historically considered centrist, but presently considered to be regressive or even dangerous by America's media and government elite?
Liberalism isn't really about making the world a better place. It's about reassuring the elites that they are good people for wanting to rule over it.
