Obama speaks to Iran leader by phone
David Jackson, USA TODAY 3:47 p.m. EDT September 27, 2013
AP Obama US India

President Obama said Friday he spoke with new Iran president Hasan Rouhani by phone, the first top-level U.S.-Iranian contact in more than three decades.

Rouhani confirmed the phone conversation in a Twitter message.

Obama said the two leaders discussed the standoff over Iran's nuclear program, and "I believe we can reach a comprehensive solution."

The United States has said it will not allow Iran to develop the means to make nuclear weapons; Iran said its nuclear program is designed for peaceful energy programs.

Iran will be a major topic Monday when Obama meets with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has raised questions about Iran's sincerity.

So, here it is.  Appeasement of the highest order with the most brutal of the Islamic countries.  Buckle up.  Or rather lock and load.

This should make Monday's meeting between Netanyahu and Obama even more "interesting".

Well, sure he can Mystery, because even if Rouhani is Shiite and Obama Sunni, they are both brothers of the Quran. Republicans? Hardly.

That says everything about this man.

I have no doubt that the conversation consisted mostly of Obama emphasizing his "flexibility" for Rouhani.
