Raymond Burke's area of authority is as head of the Tribunal of last resort in the Church.

He has no authority to make determinations for diocesan bishops.  And Pope Francis, by his example, is not a fan of refusing Communion to anybody.

Raymond Burke has no authority over local diocesan bishops.  And, given Francis' words last Thursday about changing focus from sexual issues to issues of justice and mercy, Burke's likely out on the ledge by himself.

So what?  It doesn't appear that he was trying to exercise power, just that he was making the point clear.

Most bishops are not going to use Communion as a weapon.  Even Pelosi's own archbishop, Salvatore Cordileone, doesn't refuse the Eucharist to her.

Burke was kicked upstairs to the Roman Rota because the faithful and priests of St. Louis couldn't stand him.  Now he insists on sticking his nose into diocesan administration where he has no authority.

What was the question?  I couldn't find one.

Does anyone think for one second to be turned down for communion bothers her :3:? **nononono*  The "Catholic" schtick is for the voters and means absolutely nothing to her since her "god" is the power of government.
"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim tribute to patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness -- these firmest props of the duties of men and citizens. . . . reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principles."
George Washington

"Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become more corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters."
Benjamin Franklin
