The White House isn't taking offense at decisions by several leading Russian human rights activists not to show up for a meeting with President Barack Obama in St. Petersburg after the session was repeatedly rescheduled.

"Because of scheduling changes, some of our invited guests couldn't make it, which we of course completely understand," a White House official who asked not to be named said Thursday.

Some activists said Wednesday they could not attend after the meeting was scheduled for Friday, moved to Thursday and then shuffled back to Friday again. The changes appear to have been made to allow Obama to arrange bilateral meetings with world leaders on the fringes of the G-20 Summit underway in St. Petersburg.

Some Russian news outlets seem to be gloating over the scheduling snafus.

"Leading Russian rights activists stand Obama up," the government-funded, English-language TV network Russia Today blared in a web headline. RT also referred to "assistants' blunders" as leading to the activists' decisions to pass up the meeting.

I wonder what Obama would do if the Russians don't permit the "human rights activists" to enter wherever they are supposed to meet his Highness. Or, better yet, arrest them when they arrive.

That is the dichotomy that is Obama and the American Left in general.
 
How can Obama support LGBT issues on the one hand, and support bloodthirsty Islamic radicals, who behead anyone even suspected of being LGBT on the spot and in the street?
 
He wants to meet with homosexual activists in Russia, but simutaneously wants to support those who kill homosexuals in Syria.
 
I realize that all of Liberalism is a web of hypocrisy, contradiction, and illogic, but still, something is not quite right with this guy.
