Vlad, I'm in.  Should have happened a long time ago. (I'm not a Communist.)

This can't be genuine, must be tongue in cheek.  Nonetheless, it's a damned good examination of what must be in Putin's head.

For crying out loud...I never thought I'd live to see the day that I'd agree with a leader of Russia over our own president!

What a critical situation we're in with our clueless president!

I have to believe that this didn't really come from Vladimir Putin, but it does make a hell of a lot of sense.  We need to surround and fight the radical muslims like our lives depend on it - because they do!  It sounds cold, but war is not pretty.  In a fight for your life, you either kill or be killed.

He's not clueless.  His plan has always been to support the MB.

Evil maybe...clueless no.

He's a nationalist, something that's reviled by the American left and its compliant media. Heaven forbid that any of us - or any other nation's leaders -  put our own country's interests first.  With Obama, whatever is in the USA's best interest is the last thing he wants to do.

Is he a national socialist?

Is he a national socialist?

IMO he is a pro-muslim, anti-colonial, globalist redistributionist in his heart of hearts.  But he is also a pragmatic, Chicago-bred politician, so he reaches as far as he can in that direction without overreaching.

Like most American liberals, he laments the fact that the USA is a sole super-power in the world and he would very much like to lessen its influence.  At the same time, he'd like to use what remaining force we have left to enforce what he sees as "good."

I agree. Obama would like to lessen the USA power in the world,  while strengthening his own power.

I don't know. Is a socialist who is a nationalist necessarily a national socialist in the Hitler mold? Not sure it matters.

It's good to see that at least some caught the reference!  Personally, I think Putin is basically a thug - an old-school tyrant - and not an ideological despot (such as the type Obama wants to be).

What about Putin?

Oh, Putin!  Hmmm.  Ego-centric Russian nationalist, opportunist and apolitical macho man.  I don't think he is an ideologue.  He is certainly capable of murder and outright theft in order to preserve or advance his political ambitions.  Maybe the best description is "strongman."

I think he relishes being a global fly in the ointment.  I also suspect that Russia is probably a "freer" country than the USA today, which is often the paradox of dictatorships.  Any good dictator soon realizes it is easier to enforce a few very important laws rather than thousands of petty ones.
