If convicted, he could face the death penalty. While prosecutors clearly have an advantage in how much evidence is on their side, the 13-officer jury must be unanimous in convicting Hasan of premeditated murder and for approving a death sentence.

I don't see what other choice they have. The SOB (Hasan) already admitted he did it.
I wonder when the lies will stop and truth begin, even as grim as the truth may be. And then I remember that for 70 years, the reign of terror in Russia called itself "the people's government." We have so far to fall, yet we are falling fast and Hell yawns to receive us.

There may be a twist. Judge disallows prosecution to speculate about motive.

And then balances by disallowing defense to explain motive, depriving Hasan his global jihad soapbox broadcast.
