Why Charlie Manuel - fired PHILLIES skipper will be managing the NATIONALS in 2014

1)  Davey Johnson and Manuel are good friends.  Davey Johnson is retiring at the end of the season.

2) Jayson Werth....played for Manuel and credits him for making him the ballplayer he is today.  Werth said that Manuel is brutally honest with players and if you didn't want to hear it...you had to play better.  To earn it.

It's exactly what the Nationals need after winning the NL EAST title with a league-high 98 win season...and then crashing back to a .500 team not playing up to their potential.

IOW...Manuel will NOT allow them to feel sorry for themselves.   He'll light a fire under their asses and Werth will be the Ambassador.

3)  The Phillie NATS rivalry will take on a new dimension.  The ratings for the games and for the GAME in general are going to be astronomical.

A perfect fit...for the NATS...he'll get Bryce Harper straightened out...as well as make Ian Desmond a household name.
