Chicago Fans Cheer After A-Rod Hit By Pitch; Girardi Miffed

The boo-birds came out in force again Tuesday for Alex Rodriguez.

But then something different — a swelling of cheers from the crowd in Chicago.

The fans let out a healthy roar after A-Rod was grazed on the elbow by a Chris Sale pitch in the third inning. And that did not sit well with Yankees manager Joe Girardi.

“There’s something wrong with that,” Girardi said after New York’s 3-2 loss to the White Sox. “I often think that it starts from the adults. And if it was their child, would they want them to be hit? Because the kids will only repeat what the adults do.”

Right you are. That's why we're seeing high school kids taking performance-enhancing drugs. Just like your boy A-Rod.
