Not so. Obama's speech this week said he made 7.million new jobs.  He also said everyone needs unicorns too.

"Poverty is no longer an issue of 'them', it's an issue of 'us'," says Mark Rank, a professor at Washington University in St. Louis who calculated the numbers. "Only when poverty is thought of as a mainstream event, rather than a fringe experience that just affects blacks and Hispanics, can we really begin to build broader support for programs that lift people in need."

It is what we have been saying...fewer and fewer are pulling the cart while more and more are riding in it.  And the AP here calls for more government programs to help...putting even more into the over-burdened cart.  It is the disease of looking to government for solutions that has crippled our economy, more of the same is not going to help.

Once again, it is the media essentially suggesting full on communism as the solution to our economic woes... **nononono*

Right.  Put some reality into that "4 in 5" phrase - which is really deceptive because it doesn't really demonstrate what it purports to state - and you'll see how stupid this statement is.

"4 in 5" means 80%.  In other words, this article claims that 80% of all Americans are near poverty and are faced with the prospect of losing their jobs.  Right.  And I'm "near" China, if by "near" you mean something like "closer than the next star system".

Furthermore, to the extent there are more Americans near poverty than there were the last time we had a non-democrat in the White House, then that is a problem most likely traced to the current government policies being implemented by the current White House.  In other words, to the extent there is any truth to this article, the cause is the government; the cure it most assuredly is not.
