I care, somewhat, but marginally so. Certainly not to the degree the hype machine is making it. I have to laugh... everyone is waiting outside the hospital for a guy running out the door with an envelope making a mad dash to Buckingham.

I do.  Perhaps it is my ancestry - English, Irish, Scottish, but I have long followed the English royal family. I can tell you where I was the day Queen Elizabeth's coronation took place.

I do in as much that it is nice to know that a lovely young couple had a healthy baby, other than that, they could be anybody. My wife is much more following it than I am. The other day she watched all the royal baby specials on BBC. She is also the type to get up at 3AM to watch the royal wedding coverage.

I'm happy for the young royal couple.  I think Diana had a tragic life, and I think Charles was a rotten husband to her - she deserved better.  Still, she brought two fine young men into the world and now we celebrate the birth of a baby.  I only wish Diana were alive to see it.  Like most fairy tales, it's not only happily ever after - there are dark tales too.

I'm not obsessed with it, and I'm sure there will come a point when I'll say, "enough all ready" - but I'm enjoying it today.  It's a piece of history.

The monarchy costs the Brits eighty-two cents per person to run each year.  How much does King Obama cost each US citizen per year?

I have a direct ancestral line to King Robert the Bruce through one of his daughters.  Unless like in the movies I get a Telegram from across the pond stating I inherited a castle or large estate in the Scottish countryside, I guess I really don’t care about the goings-on of the royal family.   
But when I do someday get that Telegram the Royal couple and their child are welcome over any time. We’ll play a little golf , the wife and Kate can exchange beauty secrets, and I’ll let the kid ride one of our polo ponies or chase down foxes or something.
