Thanks, Flowers.

This entire student loan thing ticks me off.  Now granted I'm older than dirt, but when I went to college it was pay as you go... or you did what my first husband did, go in the military and then go on the GI Bill......  now kids get really dumb degrees and come out of college unable to find a decent job and thousands and thousands of dollars in debt. My friends nephew graduated two years ago from Princeton. He has a degree in "script writing".....  guess he thought he was going to come back to CA and make a fortune working for the studios.  IT doesn't work that way!  The kids is living with his girlfriend and bumming money off his mother, doesn't even have a car... he did get a job for a while at McDonalds -- but that (of course) was beneath him.

Too many of these kids should have gone to a trade school where they could get a viable job and come out in many cases making a six figure income and a waiting list for their services... but then that might require REAL work... which is why so many of these kids go for a liberal arts degree in the first place instead of something that is actually useful - like finance.

I didn't have a student loan for college, but I did for graduate school and the rate was 6%. Somehow, I managed to pay it off myself -  long before it was due. Perhaps the notion of taking care of one's own responsibilities is just too foreign for today's generation of coddled collegians.

How much was the principal on that loan?

It's child's play for them. They have a compliant media that will attack any conservative statement, and will support any liberal statement, regardless of the facts.

With a stupid public as the consumer, it really couldn't be much easier for the communists.
