With today's technology...and taking into account the Bronson family's access to the very best medical care on the planet...you'd think that Charlotte would have been aggressively tested for these types of cancers in her body.

Preventive maintenance.

They probably know and did all that. The diseases are sometimes simply more powerful than the treatments.

Along with cancer of the pancreas it is one of the most difficult cancers to diagnose before it has a chance to metastasize.  We've lost two friends to it and my best friends sister was diagnosed last month and had surgery.  It had already spread to her colon AND her appendix... They also removed 11 of 13 lymph nodes all positive.

His wife has been dead for 22 years! Wow seems just like a few years ago. I remember when she died.  I loved watching Remington Steele with Pierce.  His son used to be a wild child. The last I remember the boy making news is when he drove his truck off a cliff.

In light of this, Angelina Jolie's decision may appear to be less radical.  It's quite amazing how much money as been put into fighting AIDS, a disease of behavior as opposed to the cancers, which have killed many times more over a more substantial period of time.
Ultimately, we are all going to die, which makes it much more important how one lives.

Well said ...in both points.
