During Tuesday's Senate hearings into the widening IRS scandal, Senator Ron Wyden (OR-D) suggested that the conservative groups, targeted for paralyzing IRS harassment and leaks to the left-wing media, had it coming.

Wyden said that  if political groups don't want hassles from the government, they shouldn't go to government for tax exempt status.

Of course, it is only conservative groups who were singled out by the IRS.

What an incredible statement to be made by a United States senator, even if he's a Liberal Democrat. If political groups don't want hassles from government, they shouldn't go to government asking for tax-exempt status.

The idea we ought to be advancing is this: if you want the government to stop robbing you, stop sanctioning its theft by rejecting the premise that your rights come from government and that it has a first claim on your property.

Many of you already know who Lars Larson is because he periodically appears on Megyn Kelly's show on Fox. What you may not know is that Lars has 2 radio shows, one national and the other local to OR and southern WA out of Portland. Because he deals quite often with Liberal politics in Portland (a fecund source of stupidity) and in OR in general, I sent him an email with Wyden's comments just in case he was unaware of them and asked him to highlight them during his shows. Lars, always in top of it, was already on it and emailed me back:
