He did a pretty fair job with Lincoln.  I was amazed that he portrayed the Republicans and Democrats as accurately as he did.

Same here... and I thought Bradley Cooper was outstanding in Silver Linings Playbook.

Spielberg is good with pure story - he lets it tell itself at it's own pace and is not afraid of introspective scenes. Cooper is a stunningly good actor and should shine in this. It all comes down to the script. Hall is one of the better script doctors out there - he has an ear and a knack for naturalistic dialogue - so am cautiously hopeful that this story will be told as it should be.
