Judging Issa by his results, he is disappointing, unless occasional strong words are enough.

If that's the "team", I'm out. Seriously. This guy runs his gums anytime a camera is in sight. He's a darn self promoter. Has he done a single thing worthwhile? Has Issa ever pushed anything with a positive result?

I think his constant playing to the cameras does more harm than good.

Issa is to Republicans what televangelists are to Christianity.

Boehner is a different sort of animal. I don't like him, but he does make things happen. I can respect that.

Issa has no value that I can see.

Harry Reid and Obama get things done too; I suppose you respect them more than Issa as well?

As a matter of fact, yes. Obama and Reid have an agenda and they're working it. I don't agree with it, but they are working it.

Well, hmm, let's see.  Hitler certainly accomplished a lot, as did Stalin and Mao.  You respect them more than Issa as well, I suppose?

Now you're just going to the ridiculous. I expect better from you.

Why would I want to fulfill anyone's expectations, or lack thereof.  Of course I was pushing to extremes, to demonstrate that the simple position of respecting someone solely because that person is acting, without regard to what they're actually doing, inevitably commits you to respecting people like Hitler, Stalin and Mao.

And following your logic, you shouldn't respect anyone you oppose, regardless of the opposition's intentions, or the possibility that your position is flawed. Your kind of thinking leads to the current schism in the Republican party. GOPe vs. Tea Party become enemies, and focus more energy in opposing each other rather than opposing Democrats.

It's good you don't worry about fulfilling any expectations.
