And, there it is:
Would you stop eating beef to save the planet? 02:44
(CNN)Americans will need to cut their average consumption of beef by about 40% and Europeans by 22%, for the world to continue to feed the 10 billion people expected to live on this planet in 2050, according to a new report.
That means each person could have about a burger and a half each week.

The meatless burger revolution is just getting started
This calculation comes from the World Resources Institute, a global research nonprofit that supports better use of natural resources to sustain a growing population. Its research looks at agriculture, the climate crisis, poverty and gender, among other topics....

And, there it is:
HT @kevindavis
We have a local pub that serves delicious wild rice burgers. They also brew beer on site. I have no problem ordering it and it’s probably just the one time that I feel like a leftist

I am wiling to further cut my beefr consumption, but since I am presently not eating any Europeans, I'm afraid I can't help with cuts there.
-
I promise to cut back on my hamburger consumption. Because it's getting in the way of my steak consumption, barbecued chicken, and barbecued pork consumption.
-
Be thankful there are people who know what we need.

That's OK. Sometimes we Conservatives eat healthy too. happy77

That explains it... They get you drunk enough to accept the term 'rice burger' as being a valid concept.

I have NO idea what you mean.

They can have my hamburger and a half after they pry it from my cold, dead hand.
-
I am sitting here having a smashed burger and onion rings reading this ridiculous farticle.
-
I'll gladly pay you tomorrow for a hamburger-and-a-half today.

Eat the meat, not the bun......That's healthy. It's the carbs that are unhealthy.

That's right.

Then it's not a burger.
-
I have NO idea what you mean.
It's all about balance. I eat burgers and steaks once in a while, but I eat lots of veggies and fruits, and not many carbs.
In fact, yesterday I had a Red Robin 'Shroom burger with fries, and enjoyed the heck out of it.
But right now I am eating carrots and celery as an afternoon snack.
Balance.
I'm healthy and I like EVERYTHING! happy77

See my above post.
Balance.
Low carbs. Lots of exercise. Plenty of healthy stuff.
(Vegetables aren't liberal.)

Oh I like plenty of greens. My burgers are always fully loaded... Except Mushroom-Swiss Burgers and Western Burgers, which are preserved for their purity.
And Jalapenos... pumped full of cream cheese, breaded and pitched in the deep fryer...
And mushrooms... breaded and deep fried.
See... Plenty of greens.. Healthy.

Actually since I went Keto I am eating more veggies than ever, but still plenty of meat.

I don't have a dog in this hunt since I don't eat fast food anyway, but come after my Beef Enchiladas and there's gonna be trouble.

Me too... all wrapped up in a big pretzel roll.

Nope. IF I decide to have a burger I'm going to have one. I haven't had a burger in a couple of months; I have steak once in a blue moon, chicken, chicken breast, pork, veggies and fruit. I try hard to watch the carbs, but I also need some energy. I normally walk 1.5 miles just about every day at a pretty good clip and I do two sets of 5 minute energy bursting exercises most days. Definitely not willing to have the gov't tell me what I need to do to save the planet; I'm too busy trying to save me!

I really do envy your Diet and Exercise routine @libertybele wish I had such a desire to live longer, sometimes.

Not a vegetarian by any means, but it's been quite a while since I had a hamburger. I avoid most fried food, as well...
-
Will usually grill hamberders once every week or so... I usually eat two cheeseburgers.... rarely have them out....

I have a burger (one) with all the trimmings at least twice a month. All the trimmings includes cheese and jalapeños.

Yep. Me too. One 1/3lb burger, with fries or onion rings... Tater tots if I am running low. But I am on the grill more than once a week. Shoot, as long as there ain't 3 ft of snow and whiteout conditions, I am probably grillin.

Yes, grill often.... most weeks will have on various evenings:
- the hamberders
- chicken
- steak fish, usually salmon lately
- steak
Often adding some grilled vegetables to go along....

A lot of venison for me... Running real low on elk, and out of moose... Do some buffalo, when I get the chance, which is normally just burger... Still have about a quarter beef in the freezer too, other than hamburger of which I've a butt-ton... grilled burger in stir-fry is pretty normal.
Don't do much chicken- Something about store bought makes me gag, and we ain't been running meat birds as much, so what I get of chicken is yearling rooster or something I traded from the Hutterites... But I DO have quail, chinks, and grouse.
Chinook salmon and trout (cutthroat and rainbow mostly, some brookies), always in the smoke... perch, whitefish, bass, and pike too, but white meated fish usually just fried up in the pan.
And yeah, always drag em through the garden.
