Title: Comcast Cancellation Is Tougher Than You Think
Post by: mrclose on July 15, 2014, 11:15:53 pm
The rep lies.
My Verizon Fios blows Comcast Internet away as far as speed goes and their (Comcast) HD sucks!

I always said that their HD looked like an upscaled digital definition picture and didn't know how right I was until I got fios HD!

I was listening to this today with some members of my team who were working on developing a retention tool and we were cringing, banging our heads on our desks, and overall learning everything not to do in terms of a retention program.

Comcast pays agents for every customer 'save' or upgrade. Without it, they basically make pennies on the dollar. They also have a reputation for being so hard on their customer service reps that people get desperate and do anything to keep their jobs such as cramming products on accounts, faking 'saving' customers by changing billing addresses to fake addresses so the customer thinks it is disconnected until they get a call from a collection agency, and basically making it almost impossible to disconnect their account.

I never dealt with them (CC) on the phone.

We took our boxes and modem down to their office, handed them over and canceled on the spot!

No problem other than having to pay for the 2 days of service that it took them to use the 'turn off' switch! :chairbang:

I wish I could get anything other than Suddenlink and their 250GB a month cap.

Verizon only offers DSL here which is about 20% faster than dial up.  We were supposed to get FIOS, and then Verizon suddenly announced they were terminating new FIOS installations and that was the end of that.
