The 17th Anniversary of 9/11 is a couple weeks away. As a way to show that we will never forget...I'd like to ask that everyone change their avatar to either the front page of their hometown newspaper from that day or one that really stands out in their minds.
The one that sticks with me after all these years is from the SF Chronicle. That's still how I feel about what happened on that day.
Thanks in advance.

@txradioguy
A good resource for finding the newspaper front pages is at http://www.september11news.com/ (http://www.september11news.com/)
Scroll down and there are links to both US papers and international ones (though not every one is listed--mine isn't).

@Suppressed that's the link I couldn't find after I upgraded computers. Thank you!
That is the website where I got my newspaper front page originally abck in 2003.

@txradioguy forgive the stupid question: How do I change my avatar?

@verga
Looks like you got it. But it's in your profile settings under the profile tab at the top of this page.

Done. Probably forget to put it back, so hopefully everyone is OK with it.

Done, I think I will keep it as my avatar, unless there is a serious objection.

Done, we don’t have newspapers in my town, so I put on a patch.

Just prior to 9/11, I started training to be a firefighter in the mixed volunteer / full-time fire department for the county in which I lived at the time. In fact, I had been to exactly one session prior to the event. The second session, which was a few days after 9/11, was a memorable experience. This is one of the things I remember most about the event, so I have changed my avatar to be an image of that county's fire department patch at the time.

Hi @Cyber Liberty - nice to hear from you! I have been super busy at work as well as dealing with a perfect storm of other time consuming things in my life. Had to put hobbies, including political forums, on hold for awhile. Thanks for asking.
How are things with you?

Going great! We finished our move from Phoenix, taking our time settling into our new Castle. The catz love it too. We have fabulous mountain views all around, so much better than the Suburbia I was toiling away in for 40 years.

Shock Top! Belgian White Wheat, with a hint of orange. I need to order a new spare keg, and I'll talk to my beer guy about any suggestions he may have. Still not quite brave enough to invest in a 5-gallon Slim of Bock.

Should be some microbrews around there that put out something decent. Might be pricey, though.

I'll ask around. Probably something in Kingman. I may have to drive up to Vegas, but I'm not in the mood to drive all the way to Phoenix. :shrug:
