 House Democrats Begin Gun-Control Push

Posted By Stephen Gutowski On January 10, 2019 @ 5:00 am

House Democrats announced on Tuesday night the first piece of gun-control legislation they planned to pursue now that they are back in power.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) joined a coalition of the nation's leading gun-control groups to unveil the new measure in an effort to demonstrate Democrats will make gun control a leading issue in the coming Congress. She spoke while standing alongside representatives from Moms Demand Action, the Brady Campaign, and March for Our Lives. Former congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who was shot eight years ago on Tuesday and now represents one of the best funded gun-control groups in the country, also spoke in support of the bill.

There is no practical way to enforce background checks between private parties involved in firearms transactions, nor would such a law affect criminals in the slightest.

We used to call such knowledge "common sense". But those Democrats promoting gun control are not the least bit interested in its efficacy. They are only concerned with the opportunity such legislation would provide for further control over citizens they otherwise could not compel absent a real threat of armed resistance.

This IS how the DEMS roll and win. They push until they get what they want.  Without groups like the NRA, GOA, NAGR, etc., we'd be in trouble as we can't rely on the GOP to stand for us.

That's why I am a member of the NRA and GOA, but not the GOP. Do not put your faith in political parties.

As for the Democrats - they are no longer a political party: they're a union of professional grievance groups linked by a common aversion to personal responsibility.
