CNN wonders: How can a House demand for Trump’s tax returns be considered political?
Ed MorrisseyPosted at 10:01 am on April 10, 2019
Monday may be income-tax deadline day for Americans, but today’s another kind of deadline for Donald Trump. Will he allow the IRS to hand over his tax returns pursuant to a demand from House Ways and Means chair Rep. Richard Neal? Magic 8-Ball says … “YGBFKMâ€:
House Democrats aren’t optimistic they’ll see Trump’s tax returns Wednesday.
That’s the deadline they had given IRS Commissioner Charles Rettig to turn over six years of President Donald Trump’s personal and business tax returns to House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal, a Massachusetts Democrat.

Remind me of the last time Congress demanded a President's tax returns.

I wonder what possessed Barr to write a 19 page letter to the president positing the idea that a sitting president could not be indicted.

Does Trump have something he'd like to hide from these jackals? Probably, but that's not the point. As a taxpayer, he is entitled to the confidentiality of his tax return. This is a fight he needs to wage on behalf of all of us. And the Dems' pretext that the tax returns are being demanded in order to monitor the conduct of the IRS is laughable, and clearly a ruse to get information to embarrass the President politically.
The President shouldn't say no he should say F--- NO!
