Cummings sets contempt votes for Barr, Ross for Wednesday
By Jacqueline Thomsen - 06/10/19 05:58 PM EDT

The House Oversight and Reform Committee will vote on Wednesday on whether to hold Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt for failing to comply with congressional subpoenas.

Committee chairman Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) said last week he would schedule the contempt votes after both of the officials' agencies did not hand over subpoenaed documents relating to the Trump administration's efforts to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

"Both Secretary Ross and Attorney General Barr are refusing to comply with duly authorized subpoenas from Congress.  Because they are in contempt of Congress, on Wednesday, the Committee will vote to move forward to enforce our bipartisan subpoenas," Cummings said in a statement Monday.

"I continue to hope that they will change course and begin producing the information we need to do our job under the Constitution.”

Hey, wouldn't be great if Barr was to release some dribbles on Cummings' wife being investigated by the DOJ on money fraud just about the same time?

So What? Congress is a toothless POS.
Let them do their stupid 'vote'. And let them convict.
And we will be laughing at them the whole time.

Yes and no.  Would it satisfy a sense of schadenfreude?  Yes.  Would it expose Barr to serious, legitimate accusations of obstruction and extortion?  Yes.

So, fun to think about, but hopefully Barr has the good sense to not do so.
