Fox News killed Stormy Daniels hush money report before election: New Yorker
By Michael Burke - 03/04/19 08:23 AM EST
An editor at Fox News killed a report prior to the 2016 presidential election revealing that President Trump engaged in an affair with adult-film actress Stormy Daniels years ago, The New Yorker reported on Monday.
According to the magazine, former FoxNews.com reporter Diana Falzone "had obtained proof" of the affair and confirmed it with several key sources, including Daniels and her ex-husband.
Falzone had also reportedly obtained emails between Daniels’s attorney and Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen that showed that Cohen had proposed to pay cash to Daniels in exchange for a nondisclosure agreement.
But the report was never published, according to The New Yorker, with former Fox News executive Ken LaCorte ultimately telling Falzone to "let it go."
“Good reporting, kiddo. But Rupert [Murdoch] wants Donald Trump to win. So just let it go," LaCorte reportedly said.

So much for the "We Report, you decide" slogan.
-
I doubt all of this very much, especially the specific 'insider' quotes in the article. They sound made up.
Consider the source.
Fox News cannot 'kill' any story. With so many competing outlets, if they don't report it all the Democrat propaganda channels would jump on it immediately, with vigor, whether it is verified or not.
-
Since when did signing a non-disclosure agreement become illegal, unethical?
-
He's cornered. No way out!
-
If they didn't buy exclusive rights to the story, they didn't "kill" jack squat. They used editorial discretion.

Oh sure.... as opposed to reporting something that they didn't know for sure was true.... or even reporting something they knew damned well wasn't true, like CNN. How despicable of Fox.

Well the problem is.... CNN and other media outlets don't know or understand the concept of "editorial discretion"... except when it comes to ignoring stories that provide cover for their leftist buds, that is. The hypocrisy reeks.

True. The Leftist propaganda channels like CNN use the Pelosi brand of 'news' reporting. That is, if it is negative toward any Republican, then report it first so we can find out if it is true.
While this may sound funny, like a joke or something, that really is exactly what they do.

They stopped becoming journalists and reporting venues decades ago, but I particularly noticed it during Clinton's terms. Eight fawning media years of the Clintons, with them reporting all of the fake/phony slop and ignoring the corruption and criminal activities gave a glaring picture of how the US media had morphed into our version of Pravda... a propaganda arm of the DNC. And it has only gotten worse since then.

The New Yorker's got him now!

You mean like (around the same time) pimping Cruz's seven mistresses without a single piece of evidence?
I was done with FOX long before that.
-
Pffft. The liberal media does this on a daily basis.
-
Since when did signing a non-disclosure agreement become illegal, unethical?
When it criminally violates campaign finance law and gets covered up with a fraud scheme to make it look like a retainer agreement that never existed.

Good luck, I pretty much have given up arguing twisted logic with the orange crowd here. Like talking to a wall.

Nobody has to take my word for it. It's pretty much spelled out in the SDNY sentencing memo for Cohen and the non-prosecution agreement with AMI.
