During a portion of an interview with Scripps Networks released on Monday, President Trump committed that there will be a second round of economic stimulus, which he said is likely to be announced “over the next couple of weeks,†the president did not say how much the stimulus would be, but said he thinks the second round of stimulus will “be bipartisan.â€
Scripps National Political Editor and Washington Correspondent Joe St. George asked, “I have a lot of viewers in Florida, Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan who are still struggling economically, sir. They spent all of that first stimulus check. Are you going to get them a second stimulus check?â€
Trump responded, “Yeah. We are. We are.â€
Trump added, “We will be doing another stimulus package. It’ll be very good. It’ll be very generous.â€
St. George then asked how much the stimulus would be.
Trump answered, “You’ll find out about it.â€
St. George then asked, “When are you going to do it? When are you going to announce it?â€
Trump responded, “I think over the next — I think it’s going to be bipartisan. I think it’s going to be over the next couple of weeks, probably.â€

We don't need another cash giveaway. What we do need is help for those small business owners that have either been put out of business by Covid-19... or by the anarchists/looters. As for that infrastructure aid.... we need to focus on our electrical grid and building that border wall. Strictly national security focused... since we're at war, as we speak.
Too many folks got $$$ that didn't really need it and that's a waste of taxpayers' hard-earned money, a waste of resources. I hate to champion ANYthing the left has done in the past, but in this case.... while the economy is still in the tank (thanks, ChiComs and DemocRats!).... we need more specifically focused stimulus money. And.....dare I say it? I dare, I dare. We need "targeted tax cuts". 888mouth

Your sarcasm aside... I don't really think it's going to make a tinker's damn bit of difference. The economy is already tanked and struggling.... due to circumstances beyond our (or Trump's) control. I'm a realist....and that is the reality of the situation we're in.

There are a few of us left who understand the basics of finance, and know that a government of drunken sailors with a limitless credit card won't stop spending until the grim reaper of reality sticks out his boney hand.
Deficits are bogus? Let's revisit that when the dollar finally collapses after the debt payment exceeds the ability the expend money to maintain entitlements and other government expenditures. I know i am preparing for every scenario. But make no mistake..... This house of cards is going to collapse at some point, and it is going to make the 1930's seem like a vacation.

It's not Trump doing all of this evil crap. Trump's policies have worked towards saving America vs. the Marxist's agenda of destroying us (as founded). As for those end times.... America will have to be "taken out" ....as Israel's only ally and friend on the planet. In those end times, Israel stands alone against the world. It is, literally, Biblical.

Trump can be blamed for not being willing to politically die on the budget hill, in vain. Neither has any other modern US president.

That in fact depends upon WHO is Israel. Remember, there were 12 tribes at the covenant on Sinai. Current Israel the state is only physically two (three counting Cohenim) of them. The House of Judah. And of the two, Benjamin was split - The lion's share of Benjamin is with the 10 lost tribes... The House of Ephraim...
And those tribes are present and large in the end... Something that everyone misses in the prophecy.

I agree. I lost my job (laid off from the oil patch), and found another. (I would have made more on UI, but I'd have to get laid off again). Sure, I could use some extra money, but this isn't what we need.

My BIL has been called back by the Disney Resorts California because they plan to reopen July 17. Supposedly they are going to set limits on attendance as as well as other things. But first Disney employees had to attend an eight hour seminar, waiting to here what the agenda was but pretty sure it was about Covid procedures and considering the Disney socialist posture probably to warn and train all the White employees to be properly apologetic for their White privilege and kowtow to people of color.

Why is any serious budget cutting considered political suicide? Why has any president who has tried to fight congressional overspending lost that fight? Because the voters want the spending. There is no political will to cut spending because voters want it.

The only reason the voters want more spending is because they are ignorant of the pitfalls and the eventual collapse that has to happen. They haven't been taught what will happen unless spending is reigned in. That truth is too painful and "inconvenient".
I think if the GOP bothered to 'edicate' folks about that, things might be different. Why don't they even try to do that? Because they are gutless and just go along to get along. And because most of them like the spending and want it, too. Conservatism is a dead issue in America now. And I don't think it's ever coming back in style.

No, the trick has been ever to inflate out of the last round of nutso spending, so it gets paid back in 'money' that is worth less.
Which is why instead of $100/week to support a family of four, it takes closer to $1000/week now.

I couldn't tell you. I do know that in the Fedgov, your importance is based on the size of your department, not necessarily what you do. If the Dept grows, you become more important. Budgets will increase as long as that is the metric.

I’ve seen pie charts in the past which reflected all annual spending including that which is mandated, automatic and although I cannot remember the specifics I do recall being amazed at how little discretionary spending there is as a percentage of overall spending.

Trump and the Republicans that go along are ruining this country. Of course the Dems want to spend too. Its all about the same thing. Buying votes. How much can you give so that people will vote for you. And Trump has taken advantage of the Democrats attending his rallies. Democrats and people who never voted before. Pretty telling. The Democrats expect goodies. People who don't vote? I can only imagine what the draw is.
