Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez out to primary Chuck Schumer?
By Monica Showalter
Well, well, well, what a pretty picture we have with Democrats these days, with radical Democrats now looking at primary fights with utterly crazy socialist ones.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be planning to primary her fellow New York Democrats for a Senate seat, getting ready to target Sen. Chuck Schumer or Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.
That's what Mike Allen at Axios is reporting, citing what's apparently an upcoming Axios on HBO segment, citing "top Democrats," who "buzz." He writes:
Top Democrats tell "Axios on HBO" they expect Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may eventually primary one of the two New York senators — Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in 2022, or Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in 2024.
Why it matters: AOC has instantly become one of the party's most coveted endorsers (up there with Clintons and Obamas) — and has recently made common cause with Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a pairing that could take off.

Somehow I don's see the Jewish Mafia that supports up-Chuckie supporting her. They may both be leftist loons,but only one of the leftist loons can be guaranteed to blindly support Israel in any and all circumstances.
In fact,it is no exaggeration to predict the other one would never support Israel under any circumstances,and let's face it,without US support the plug would be pulled on Israel.

She knows her district is going to be the first one to get carved up like a turkey after the 2020 Census. She'll either have to move up or hope another Congressperson retires by then.

Or she'll have to challenge another incumbent in the resulting District, as she did before.

@jmyrlefuller
Probably the surest bet you could ever make. No way in hell can the DNC allow themselves to be seen as removing her from office by supporting an opponent,so will change the voting demographics to insure she loses.

@Cyber Liberty
I think she caught the DNC napping the last time,and sneaked in under the wire. Now they know they have a genuine bomb-thrower in their midst,and this won't be allowed to happen again.

She's just there to steal headlines from Omar.

Well, ya have to admit, who is goofiest? Sometimes I think AOC wins...sometimes Omar. I'm glad I don't have to make a bet. happy77

Me too, and I'll bet on almost anything.
-
If she’s going to go for anyone, it would be Gillibrand. Schumer wouldn’t be taken quite so easily.

Omar is dangerous. AOC is a clown.

Since Gillibrand will be POTUS, the bartender is a shoo-in./s

She thinks she's qualified to go after the next available sinecure, which ever one that is.
-
Oh please let it be Gillibrand. The facepalms from a primary between those two would be epic!

Maybe so, but getting Gillibrand would be significantly easier than Schumer.

@Bill Cipher
No kidding. Chuckie might play at being mild-mannered and easy to get along with in front of the cameras,but threaten he seat and see the monster appear like magic.
I wonder how long it's been ,if ever,since he has had a serious Dim challenger? LOTS of Jews in that district,and I just don't see them voting for her over him.

Ocasio-Cortez could make bid for New York Senate seat: report
By Bob Fredericks
June 11, 2019 | 12:20pmRep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may challenge one of New York’s incumbent Democratic senators in a primary, according to the political talkfest “Axios on HBO.â€
Democrats suggested that the freshman New York lawmaker — who has become the face of the Democratic Party’s progressive youth movement — may go after the seat held by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in 2022 or Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand in 2024.
Ocasio-Cortez’s endorsement has become one of the most sought after as her national profile as a Democratic socialist has risen.
She has been unafraid to challenge the party’s aging hierarchy, arguing that the House should launch an impeachment investigation into President Trump.
A Harris poll for “Axios on HBO†showed socialism is soaring in popularity, especially with women ages 18 to 54 — 55 percent of whom approve — and younger Americans. ...
We truly are living in Bizarro World

Right. As long as AOC is eating up the column inches with her act, Omar can say things that would enrage most Americans and they rarely hear a word of that crap. Otherwise, the calls for Omar's removal would be deafening.

The last time he faced any substantial challenge was 1998, when he faced off against Geraldine Ferraro (relatively moderate) and Mark Green (far left) in his first run for his current Senate seat. Schumer beat Ferraro and Green combined, then knocked off New York's last GOP Senator to date, Al D'Amato, in the general—though D'Amato was in many ways not much different than Schumer except for the letter next to his name.

@mountaineer I don't recall Chuckles ever supporting Israel. He directly opposed the moving of the embassy to Jerusalem.

If New York state is to lose a Congressional seat, it will be "from upstate", not from New York City itself or the metropolitan area. So they're not getting rid of AOC by eliminating her district.
I predicted on this forum as soon as she was elected, that the occasional-communist would set her sights on "a higher prize" as soon as the opportunity presented itself.
I'd give her almost even money on unseating Schumer via a primary challenge in 2022. Chuck the schmuck is gettin' tired and it shows.

We're probably going to lose two. One upstate, one downstate-- and seniority generally rules the day unless they can get someone to retire.

You're welcome.
The upstate seat, much to my disappointment, is probably going to be the Congressman that serves my district, Tom Reed, who had previously said he only planned to serve six terms. His sixth term ends in 2022. My biggest concern is that they try to split the district and force us into a Buffalo Democrat's district such as that of Brian Higgins.

With either of these buttholes in office, it is sure be "We the people..."
