ATLANTA — Coca-Cola is slimming down, canning 200 drink brands from its portfolio, the beverage giant said Thursday.
The announcement comes on the heels of Coca-Cola discontinuing several outdated brands, including Tab, ZICO coconut water and juice-smoothie brand Odwalla, CNN reported. ...

The company expects to offer a portfolio of approximately 200 master brands, an approximate 50% reduction from the current number, and phase out some products, such as ZICO® and TaB®.
Expanding consumer-centric innovation: The company is committed to exploring new products in dynamic beverage categories. In the third quarter, the company launched Topo Chico™ Hard Seltzer, which blends purified sparkling water, a gluten-free alcohol base and natural flavors, with minerals added for taste. Topo Chico™ Hard Seltzer is inspired by Topo Chico® sparkling mineral water, a 125-year-old brand with a rich heritage. The new product is currently available in select cities in Latin America. In the United States, the company entered into an agreement with Molson Coors Beverage Company to manufacture, market and distribute the product. This relationship will allow Topo Chico™ Hard Seltzer to launch with scale in the U.S., which we anticipate will occur in the first half of 2021. ...

Same up in here... Women anyway... Gents not so much. I went a while on Pepsi and Mountain Dew, but wound up back in sweet tea like I should have never left.
Even yet though... its a 'get to know you' question... "Which one: Cherry Coke or Dr. Pepper?" One or the other is fine... Or sweet tea of course... Donna, one of my near missus... I knew she was claiming ground when a cold pack of Dr. Pepper began to reside in my fridge.
It's a thing, for sure.

I found it interesting that Coke is phasing out some of its soft drinks but getting into the hard seltzer market. Makes sense, as the shamdemic has turned so many people into heavy drinkers. :laugh:

Yoohoo always brings to mind a hot summer evening in Kansas, sitting on the rough concrete curb of my uncle Paul's general store, just as the lightning bugs were coming out... Every time I take that first gulp of an ice cold Yoohoo, I am right back there in an instant... I can smell the hot dirt and feel the gravel under my toes...
Needless to say, I still have one every now and then... They are rare up here. every year or two I see one, and I can't help myself.

Somebody said something funny in the lunch room, and my buddy blew chocolate milk and green jello out his nose... surprisingly large chunks (it amazed me at the time)... Needless to say, I cannot eat green jello ever since. :shrug:

Tab was my first diet beverage. I was 13 or 14 and going to an orthodontist in a building that had a coffee shop on the ground floor. At that time saccharin was the only artificial sweetener around and Tab of course contained saccharin. Tab tasted good going down the gullet, but for hours afterwards it kept coming back and it didn't taste so good the second or third time around.
Anyway, no more Tab for me. Of course, later other sweeteners came along that were more digestible. But eventually, I got away from diet soda and later soda in general. I'd rather have water or tea.

My parents fed me that "The Astronaunts Drink It" line back in the '60's. Still didn't hide the fact the stuff tasted awful.

When I was about 7, my mother gave me a buck for snacks. I walked to the store and got 5 moon pies and a pepsi. Finished them in one sitting, and of course, got sick. Still wince when I see one.

We had an 'off brand' of potato chips, and I liked barbecue. Somehow there was an air pocket in one of the chips that had filled with the barbecue flavoring, salt and grease. After I bit into that chip, it was years before I could eat barbecue potato chips again...

Well, ever since we turned 3 muzzled skunks loose in the cafeteria... or the time we poured a sack of bats through the window... Or even the butter pats snapped up onto the ceiling launched with a belt... I went to count those one time, and got bored after 125... Every now and then one would peel off and fall into someone's hair or food..
