Thursday on MSNBC’s “The Reidout,†House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) attributed the wildfires plaguing her state and hurricanes that have batter the Gulf Coast to so-called climate change.
According to Pelosi, the natural disasters were a sign that “Mother Earth is angry.â€
“Here we are, on the eve of 9/11, the 19th anniversary of 9/11, as we are filled with sadness, continued to be filled with sadness about those who lost their lives at that time and since from consequences of 9/11,†Pelosi said. “That was going to be our focus this week. We have these fires in California, and in the West, 16 people have died in Washington, Oregon, and California, including a firefighter and a 1-year-old baby. We — our firefighters have been so, very, very courageous.â€
“Now, we’re, again, breaking records. Mother Earth is angry,†she continued. “She’s telling us — whether – she’s telling us with hurricanes on the Gulf Coast, fires in the West, whatever it is, that climate crisis is real and has an impact. I hear — I came over the weekend back to Washington. It was unhealthy and smoky, that was how they described the air then. Now, it has gotten much worse, and I’m hearing regularly on the ongoing from my constituents about the concern they have about the fires and the air quality, the loss of life, and over 34 million acres burned. That’s an historic number. Again, sadness over 9/11 complicated by our concern about the fires, at the same time as we’re dealing with a coronavirus and finding out that the president of the United States didn’t address it in the serious way that it needed to be addressed early on.â€

Pardon my ignorance, but is there any room in "good devout Catholic" doctrine for such an entity as Mother Earth, let alone an irate Mother Earth? I assumed all of us Christians attributed the creation of and dominion over the earth to God. *****rollingeyes*****

There have always been hurricanes... so apparently "Mother Earth" has always been angry. Many of the wildfires are being started by man, so let's put the blame where it belongs. As for the fires started by lightning, leftist California policies have caused these fires to become a problem. But even though the left blames "mankind" for every bad climate and natural disaster incident, we can't blame the California leftists for their wildfire problems now, can we. The disconnect and idiocy is stunning.

They keep creating tinderboxes but can't figure out why the fires keep getting worse... Last year it was all PG&E's fault. This year it an "angry mother earth" apparently.
They're stuck on stupid.
They want their forests to be completely natural - well this is is nature doing what nature does.

Miss Nancy is no spring chicken, but hurricanes have been happening on the Gulf Coast and wild fires were happening in California millennia before those geographic locations were given those names. It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature!

She is simply following the beliefs of pope socialista fagato, they are both catholics cut from the same heretical cloth. This ain't your mothers Catholic church, hell it's not the Catholic church I knew as a child. If my appaelation of this pope is disrespectful, oh well, It's how I believe he treats the traditional devout Catholicism. And I'm going to with my momma on this as she was brought up in the church when there was a reverence for life not abortion and buggery.

The Pope is a commie. And Pelosi has gone that route too, as have almost all Democommies.
Fires in the west are natural, and the high population of California aggravates it. And hurricanes also are a natural force. Climate change is science, my *ss! Climate change is nothing more than a bunch of self centered politicians attempting to line their pockets with gold. Pure idiocy!
In the 80s, we were headed into an ice age, and now this nonsense. What it really boils down to is too many people. I had a biology professor in 1972 tell me the planet was over populated, and mother nature has a way of leveling that out, and that was when the population was 3.7 billion. The population has doubled, and will triple soon. I say with what is going on, the next major war, which I expect will happen 2040-50 will take out billions of the world population and make WWII look like child's play. It will be the result of bio warfare, and it will not last long to wipe out 80-90% or more of the world population.
