Title: Atlanta School: No Pledge of Allegiance in Mornings This Year

An Atlanta school has dropped the Pledge of Allegiance from its morning routine for the new school year, saying that too many students and staff members weren’t saying it anyway and they wanted to be inclusive.

The Atlanta Neighborhood Charter School, which opened in 2002 in the Grant neighborhood, said Tuesday that the pledge would not be part of its morning ritual this year.

“There are many emotions around this and we want everyone in our school family to start their day in a positive manner,” elementary campus President Lara Zelski said, Fox News reported.

The Pledge has already done what it's author (socialist minister Francis Bellamy) wanted: created a populace mindlessly pledging allegiance to The State.

It's really amazing how many conservatives support this socialist endeavor.

The Pledge has already done what it's author (socialist minister Francis Bellamy) wanted: created a populace mindlessly pledging allegiance to The State.

It's really amazing how many conservatives support this socialist endeavor.
The alternative is to have a bunch of overpaid whiney millionaires showing complete disregard for the sacrifice of others, who are more badass than they will ever be, and contempt for this country that offered them the means to become rich, by kneeling for the National Anthem.

Growing up, in every classroom hung the American flag.  Walk into most classrooms today and that certainly isn't the case.  Liberalizing the school system has removed God and the American flag and replaced it with  anti-patriotism, anti-Christian indoctrination. Some schools now have introduced Sharia into the classrooms while still omitting God and the American flag!

Yeah I don't know what class rooms you have been in, but every classroom in every district I have been in, visaitied or worked in, has a flag PROUDLY displayed..

Not true. Sharia law does nothing less than suck up to their God to the point were they are all slaves to that God and his prophets.

You just want YOUR God to be dominate and not have any competition. Which is basically the same thing they want.

I can only attest for elementary schools and pre-kindergarten facilities.  Not all schools in the district have flags in every classroom.  Flags are displayed in the school front yards though.

More troubling is that most of the daycares and nursery schools do not display the American flag.

Why is that a problem? The children in day cares or nursery schools have no idea what a flag is anyhow.

False dilemma.

We could offer respect for those who've sacrificed, and for the ideals our flag represents, without giving an allegiance oath to the piece of cloth and the State.

That hasn't been my experience, but I'm in the Northeast.  Maybe it's true elsewhere.

It's more disturbing to me, though, that most classrooms don't have the flag of their state or commonwealth displayed.

Maybe I am having a senior moment,but I grew up going to school in Virginia in the 50's,and I don't remember seeing a single state or national flag hanging in a classroom.

On poles ouside,yes. Inside classrooms,no.

Day cares and nursery schools tend to be private institutions. there fore they are only guided by the whims of the owners/ operators.

The National anthem is neither a piece of cloth o the State and you are misrepresenting my position. Disrespect for the National Anthem is disrespect for the men and women that have sacrificed for our freedom. Kneeling is nothing more that style over substance. They want to protest great have a good time. Carry picket sign before or after the game. protest in front of a police station. There are a thousand different ways to protest that is not showing disrespect for our service men and women, and their families.

I agree and am also in agreement with Justice Robert H. Jackson (see below)
