Amy Schumer evidently did not share the comedy gene with her cousin. [She has no comedy gene, trust me]

Sen. Chuck Schumer clanked a joke Sunday at the Gotham Comedy Club, where he took the stage alongside Jerry Seinfeld to advocate for federal funding for city performance venues hit hard by the coronavirus.  ...
[Whereupon Chuck tries to tell a joke. This is the punchline, believe it or not:]
“He’s about to bang the gavel and pronounce [his] sentence when a gentleman in the middle of the room gets up, all agitated,” said Schumer. “‘Your honor, your honor, may it please the court, I’m her husband. She also stole a can of peas!'”

The punchline elicited only a smattering of chuckles from the tough New York crowd and a few seconds of silence from Seinfeld, before he threw his head back with a sharp laugh and explained the joke to the audience. ...
Loser.

Seinfeld backs Schumer bill to fund NYC entertainment venues hit by COVID-19
By Rachel Green and Aaron Feis

New York’s comedy clubs, theaters and other live venues are very fund-worthy.

That’s the message Sen. Chuck Schumer and Jerry Seinfeld — sorry, no Danny Tartabull — teamed up to deliver Sunday, pushing for federal legislation to support city entertainment spots forced to close up amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“This bill is so important to keep these places going,” said Seinfeld, 66, from the stage of Chelsea’s Gotham Comedy Club. “It makes the city exciting to walk down the street and know right inside that door, some people are on stage and doing things. It gives the city energy and electricity.”

Schumer, the Senate minority leader, is advocating for the Save Our Stages Act, which would procure a not-so-junior mint of $10 billion to keep afloat venues that have seen their profits undergo significant shrinkage. ...

My sister, a professional musician, has been essentially unemployed since the covid shutdown in mid-March. No concerts permitted.
I don't see any network stars or U.S. Senators rushing to her aid. Seriously, $10 billion in taxpayer funds to save comedy clubs?

Ya know, Jerry Seinfeld becomes less funny every day.

I was a big Seinfeld fan for years and have watched replays of the show on Channel 36 Toledo
at 11:00 and again at 11:30.

No more. So long Jerry.

I am finding out that supporting and following anyone Hollywood is a loser.
How many do the political thing after they make it big?
