Went looking for more songs by John Fullbright on You Tube,and look at what I found. I had never heard of Mike Farris before,either.
Fullbright doesn't sing in this one,but he sure does put out some tasty flattop. Truth it,his playing sounds an awful lot like Willie Nelson,and that definitely ain't a bad thing.

@sneakypete Use 'Insert Hyperlink' (URL) usually with a you tube video I remove the 's' from the https because someone recommended it.
@corbe
Thanks! I could have sworn I tried that a couple of times,but I guess I didn't.
BTW,what did you think of Mike Farris,and am I the only one that thinks John Fullbright looks to be about 15 years old. Just doesn't sound right to hear bluesey lyrics come out of a head that looks so young and innocent.
Like that Guy, My Radio Station plays him all the Time.

Windwood and Mason are very underrated as songwriters and composers, you got me running off to Blind Faith now.

Willie Nelson is one of the greatest song writers to have ever lived. Here is one of his early songs you will probably recognize.

Hoodoo Gurus.

I'll raise. Two huge talents, one track. :laugh:
I made this video to go along with the hilarious parody that these two comedians came up with that premiered last week:

I know a couple of guys who are having one helluva jam up there now . . .
Your mention of Bo Diddly made it mandatory for me to post this one by Eric Burton and the Animals. I know YOU are familiar with it,but it should be a real treat for anyone who has never heard it before.
I apologize for hogging in on your post. New to this mod "magic button" stuff. Could you post your video again? I promise to not step all over it this time.
@INVAR
LOVED it!
Sure wish we had ping lists here. That one would be a prime candidate for a comedy ping list hit.

YIKES! Booking the ABB is going out in STYLE!
That Chuck Berry Concerto in B Goode is good but I wonder if that's not too different than just hearing free jams like the Grateful Dead do.
And, for fun:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwqhdRs4jyA
When Berry liked to jam, he kept it a lot tighter: he didn't really hang with more freewheeling improvisors. You notice
in "Concerto in B Goode" the rhythm section didn't veer off the elemental groove or the basic structure Berry set out.
In the fifties, artists normally toured as a group with several other acts, each only doing a couple of songs. The tour usually had their own backup band. Later as noted, Chuck just travelled by himself and the promoter would hire a local band to act as a warm up act and then back Chuck (although he usually doesn't allow the guitar players to stay on stage with him, just drums, bass, or keyboards).

@TomSea
Session players?
I once bought an album by a famous guitar player.
I don't think I ever listened to that release that much of all things, but I did his Ocean Boulevard album.
I'd have to guess @Sanguine cause that is what I picture she looks like.
That may be because people say Berry really didn't have his own band, that he'd use other musicians to be his back up. I don't know how to describe it properly but I've seen a number of people infer it.
Been listening to the blues all day and already depressed but certainly gonna miss Mr. Campbell @TomSea

listened to Ray Wylie butcher Choctow Bingo last night, never was one of my favorites by McMurtry and there are damn few of those.
Feeling like some Robert Earl Keen, myself, after Mercury.
@Ghost Bear
KNBT Radio?
Nope, KOKE-FM (http://kokefm.com/). They play a lot of Texas/Red Dirt music, some oldies, a few Nashville acts (no Bro-country, thankfully.) Their playlist gets a little repetitive for me but generally I like what they play.
Can't pick them up here, but next time I'm up that way, I'll tune in they sound a lot like my favorite broadcaster here.
That was hilarious @sneakypete , never seen that show.
Thanks for taking care of these Threads each morning, I'm not really a early riser unless there's contractual obligations.
Just for me, I think this is a modern classic:
@sneakypete That's a dam good version of Mercy Now, Jason isbell I've heard before and Like, Amos Lee is new to me, I like that too.
that doesn't make it bad @sneakypete a lot of people think just cause there's a Sax in there somewhere it's gotta be Jazz.
@sneakypete First thing I thought of was Ella Fitzgerald. Melody is sweet and talented with no saxophone. What an incredible story about what she has overcome.
@corbe
All the music she writes and performs is like that. It just flows. Perfect music to play while working because the time really flies while listening to it.

It sounds good, I'll try to listen to more of this. Very talented.
@sneakypete Kinda reminds me of 'Mercy Now', you may like this version of Dreams to Remember.
@corbe
Yeah,that's some good stuff. There is some pretty sweet sax in that song too,and who doesn't love good sax?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQaCsh1T9QQ
Good sound here, it's take 1, so at one point, it sounds like he gets tied up on the keyboards but it's a good song.

Well, the gig got canceled, but there's always a next time . . .He wrote that "Suzanne", that's some song. Among many others by Cohen, the music really goes through to the listener. I've discussed it before elsewhere.

@EasyAce
I agree,and expressed that sentiment when I first came here. Didn't do a bit of good.
As George Jones sang with Barbara Mandrell "I was country before country was cool", just in case, a few don't know about Jones and mainly music from as early as 2008, just saying....
