Title: NASA SHOCK admission: Distant galaxy is ‘ON COURSE to COLLIDE with Earth'
Post by: ABX on February 15, 2019, 07:13:41 pm
I'm only posting this for the hilarious headline and the way the media is presenting it...

Quote
NASA’s Assistant Director of Science Communication Michelle Thaller has revealed how a distant galaxy is on course to collide with the Milky Way as the gravity between the two continues to pull them closer together. ......

It is not until you get way down to the bottom of the page, way below a bunch of sponsored ads, clickbait links, and auto-playing videos do you find this...

Quote
The 49-year-old went on to predict when this event would take place.
She continued: “Andromeda will collide with the Milky Way in around 4.5 billion years.

LOL...

No worries then,  Sandy-O aka, Alex from the Bronx says will all be dead in 12 years.  So we have that going for us. 888high58888

Not only that, What happens when two Galaxies collide?  They already know, considering a Galaxy is 99.99% empty space.

It'll be like bumper car/roller derby.... only with a lot less certainty of impact.  Murphy's Law applies here too.

It's stories like this that make me question my Dr's motives when he exclaims 'pay attention and shut up, I'm just trying to keep you alive'.

That's why I keep in shape.  I want to still be around when this happens......

The collision between Andromeda and the Milky Way has been predicted for decades... and even though it was only confirmed in 2012 (using observations from the Hubble telescope), that's still seven years ago.  They must have really been starved for news to think this is headline worthy....   **nononono*

I'm reserving a hibernation unit for just that purpose.  Hopefully, when I wake up.... Democrats will either be not as stupid as they are now... or will be already dead.  Win-win, either way.

Nah.  A cave won't do.   Buy yourself a nice, cozy missle silo.

That's what I've been counting on. Eat, drink and be merry, for sometime in the next 12 - 4.5 billion years we die!

Keith Richards will outlive all of that.

M31 is hardly a "distant Galaxy."  It's the closest one to the Milky Way.

I will enlighten you by this scientific fact:
Once matter is created, it never goes away, it is eternal.  It can change to another state, to something else, but it is there forever.

Another scientific fact:
Time did not begin nor will it end.  Time "is".

How do these truths affect a collision of galaxies?  Nothing will go away when the collision happens, and whatever the contents are after the collision, they will be there forever in eternal time.

I plan to lock myself in the kitchen with all of my prep stuff and I'm sure I will still be here after it is over.  I may be in another form, but I will still be here.
