The New York Daily News is trying to "Newt Gingrich" Speaker of the House John Boehner by "blaming" him and the Republican majority in the House for the government shutdown. Their cover art and headline for this morning evokes the Netflix hit drama "House of Cards" and labels the Republicans "turds":

During the 1995 shutdown the New York Daily News was "credited" for affixing blame to Newt Gingrich and the Republicans in the House with this cover:
