Here's the schedule for events that will usher Trump to the White House:
Wreath-laying ceremony, Jan. 19
Arlington National Cemetery
Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence will lay a wreath at the cemetery in honor of the nation's veterans. Details have not been publicly announced
"Make America Great Again!" welcome celebration, Jan. 19
Ceremony will be held at the Lincoln Memorial
This event will feature "a diverse group of performers" in a concert followed by comments from Trump and Pence. Tickets are required for special viewing areas. Further details have not been publicly announced.
Inaugural Gala, Jan. 19
The country performers Big & Rich plus Cowboy Troy will headline an Inauguration Gala presented by the Great America Alliance, a superPAC that supported Donald Trump's campaign. Celebrity cameos announced so far include former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, actor and conservative commentator Jon Voight, "conservative star Sheriff David Clarke" and Dr. Dorothy Woods. It's not clear if Trump or Pence will be present.
Inauguration ceremonies, Jan. 20
Ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Eastern, U.S. Capitol Building
Trump and Pence will be sworn in on the west front of the Capitol . Their families and members of Congress, the U.S. Supreme Court, diplomatic corps and other invited guests will be seated on the ceremony platform. Amid tight security and frigid weather, the best seat is likely going to be your couch. The event will be televised and streamed live online, including here on UPI.com.
Security will be tight, with all viewing areas near the event requiring tickets – 250,000 of them – and a security screening beginning when gates open at 6 a.m. Here's what inauguration ticket-holders are prohibited from bringing: aerosols, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, animals (except service animals), backpacks, roller bags, suitcases, bags larger than 12"x14"x5", balloons, balls, banners, signs, placards, bicycles, non-ADA chairs, coolers, drones, explosives of any kind, glass, thermal and metal containers, knives or other sharp objects of any length including pocketknives, laser lights and laser pointers, mace or pepper spray, noisemakers like drums or bullhorns, packages, poles and selfie-sticks, spray containers, strollers, structures, supports for signs or placards, toy guns, tripods, umbrellas, weapons of any kind and "any other items that may pose a threat to the security of the event as determined by and at the discretion of the security screeners."
People who arrive without tickets – an estimated 500,000 are expected – will be able to view the event from the National Mall behind the ticketed areas.
Music begins at 9:30 a.m. Eastern. Performers scheduled so far are America's Got Talent winner and platinum-selling singer Jackie Evancho, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, the Radio City Rockettes (who also performed at George W. Bush's inauguration ceremonies) and the Missouri State University Chorale.
Opening remarks begin at 11:30 a.m. Eastern. Religious leaders who will give readings, benedictions and invocations include New York Archbishop Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, the Rev. Samuel Rodriguez of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, Pastor Paula White of New Destiny Christian Center, Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, the Rev. Franklin Graham of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Bishop Wayne T. Jackson of Great Faith Ministries International.
Inaugural Parade, Jan. 20
Begins at the conclusion of the inauguration
Trump and Pence will make their way from the Capitol to the White House down Pennsylvania Avenue as part of a parade that includes high school and college bands; police posse, motorcycle and cavalry units; veterans and active members of the military; and the Boy Scouts of America, among others.
Inaugural Balls
Three official inaugural balls are planned featuring appearances by Trump, including one being dubbed the Big Apple Ball in Washington but with New York-themes dominating under Trump's personal direction, according to TMZ. Details are still developing.

Deploraball, 7 p.m. Jan. 20 A $250 per plate event that takes eponymous pride in Trump nemesis Hillary Clinton's claim that half of his supporters are "deplorables" is no joke, though there's a lot of snark and sarcasm inherent in this event and its promotion. The reception begins at 7 p.m. at the Bolger Center in Bethesda, Md., just outside Washington, with a silent auction to benefit veterans and event host Gays for Trump, followed by dinner and dancing at 8 p.m. This event has publicly illuminated growing fractures among Trump's most fervent supporters among the so-called "alt-right" who helped create the ball via a social media group known as MAGA-3X. Organizers who hoped for an inclusive "big-tent" event have butted heads with event co-founder Tim Treadstone, who has posted homophobic and anti-semitic remarks via @BakedAlaska on Twitter. Milo Yiannopoulos, a Briton who works as an editor for Breitbart News known for acerbic commentary on and off Twitter where he was recently banned, reportedly is scheduled as a guest of honor.

Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball, Jan. 19: Sponsored by the Texas State Society of Washington, D.C. $275

The event is hosted by the Coalition to Salute American Heroes, Military Order of the Purple Heart and Disabled American Veterans with Paralyzed Veterans of America as a non-partisan celebration. $350-$1,250
Inauguration Day at the Newseum, Jan. 20: An all-inclusive "Presidential Inauguration Celebration Experience" from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Newseum, located on the inaugural parade route on historic Pennsylvania Avenue. $350-$500
Native Nations Inaugural Ball, Jan. 20: This event launches a campaign to build the National Native American Veterans Memorial.
Dardanella: The Great Gatsby Presidential Inaugural Ball, Jan. 20: National Portrait Gallery & Smithsonian American Art Museum hosts "a non-political political event!" offering a step back in history with an orchestra, vintage paper moon photo sets and more. $150-$450

Inaugural prayer service tradition continues
President-elect Donald Trump plans to attend an inaugural prayer service at the Washington National Cathedral, following the tradition of many past presidents.
The National Prayer Service, set for Jan. 21, the day after the swearing-in, is the last of the official inaugural events announced Wednesday (Dec. 21) by the Presidential Inaugural Committee.
"The Inaugural Prayer Service is a moment for our next president to pause and contemplate the incredible responsibility he has been entrusted with and to listen as the faith community offers prayers for the office of the president," said Kevin Eckstrom, the cathedral's chief communications officer, in a statement.

Trump's image won't be on Inauguration transit card, but Trump team has an alternative
An image of President-elect Donald Trump won’t be on a commemorative Inauguration Day transit card but will appear on a free sleeve that protects the card, officials said Saturday.
The joint announcement by the 2017 Presidential Inaugural Committee and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority appears to settle the political flap about Trump’s face not being on the commemorative, hard-plastic card, considering President Obama’s was for his 2008 and 2012 inaugurations.
“The … committee has worked closely with Metro on a commemorative sleeve,” said group spokesman Boris Epshteyn. “Americans from every corner of this country will be coming to Washington, D.C., for inaugural events.”
The card will feature an image of Trump, a Republican, submitted by the committee and Trump’s winning campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.”

Designers Lining Up to Dress Melania Trump for Inauguration

A number of iconic fashion designers are reportedly chomping at the bit for the chance to dress future First Lady Melania Trump for Inauguration Day.
New York socialite and philanthropist and Trump family friend Jean Shafiroff, who sits on the Couture Council of The Museum at New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, took a poll to determine how interested designers were when asked their thoughts on dressing Mrs. Trump.
Shafiroff told the New York Post that Zac Posen, B. Michael America, Victor de Souza, and Zang Toi are among the designers who say they’d be willing to dress the First Lady to-be.
“Any designer who dresses her will get enormous press,” Shafiroff told the outlet.

Designer Stefano Gabbana, co-founder of fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, has proudly posted photos on his Instagram of Mrs. Trump wearing his clothing. The photos caused a stir on social media, and Gabbana fired back at critics threatening to boycott his designs.
“How many stupid and ignorant people r on Instagram!!!” Gabbana wrote back in one of several comments taking aim at the negative posters. “Please if you don’t like my post unfollow me… thank you.”

A source close to the 75-year-old star told Radar exclusively that he was asked by members of Trump's inauguration committee. The source said: 'He was only too happy to do it for his longtime friend. 'While everyone else was running scared from performing at the inauguration, Paul stood fast.' Washington (AFP) - The inauguration of Donald Trump as America's 45th president is the highlight of several days of pomp and circumstance in the US capital. Here's a look at the timeline of events.
Thursday, January 19
10:35 am - Performances begin at Lincoln Memorial. "Voices of the People," the first act of a day-long public concert, will feature groups such as the DC Fire Department Emerald Society Pipes and Drums, the Republican Hindu Coalition, high school marching bands, choirs and baton twirlers.
3:30 pm to 4 pm - Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in honor of the nation's veterans.
4 pm to 6 pm - Trump will deliver remarks during the second act of the concert at Lincoln Memorial, dubbed the "Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration." The event, broadcast live nationally, will be headlined by country stars Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood and feature a fireworks finale.
Trump is expected to spend Thursday night at Blair House, the presidential guest residence across the street from the White House.
Friday, January 20
Morning - Trump, Pence and their families are expected to attend services at St. John's Episcopal Church, just steps from the White House.
Afterward, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcome Trump and his wife Melania to the White House for morning tea. The two couples will then travel together to the Capitol by motorcade.
9:30 am - Inauguration ceremony begins on the west front of the Capitol with musical performances.
Attendees will include members of Congress, Supreme Court justices, diplomats and the public. Former presidents Jimmy Carter, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton will attend, as will Trump's election opponent Hillary Clinton.
Former president George H.W. Bush is in frail health and will not be present.
Sixteen-year-old soprano Jackie Evancho will sing the national anthem. The Rockettes dance troupe will also be performing, at a time yet to be announced.
11:30 am - Opening remarks. Religious leaders will offer the invocation and readings.
Pence will be sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
Noon - Trump will recite the oath of office, administered by US Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. He will use president Abraham Lincoln's inauguration Bible, as well as the Bible that Trump's mother gave to him at his Sunday school graduation in 1955. Afterward, Trump will deliver his inaugural address.
12:30 Ceremony ends.
Afterward, in keeping with tradition, Trump and Pence will attend the Congressional Lunch in the Capitol.
3 pm to 5 pm - Inaugural parade. The newly minted president and vice-president make their way 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) along Pennsylvania Avenue from the Capitol to the White House, trailed by some 8,000 parade participants. They will include members of all US military branches, as well as high school and university marching bands, equestrian corps, first responders, veteran groups and even a tractor brigade.
7 pm to 11 pm - Trump, Pence and their wives will make appearances at three official inaugural balls, two of which will be held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center and the other at the National Building Museum. A number of semi-official and unofficial balls also will take place throughout the city.
Saturday, Jan 21
10 am to 11 am - Trump and Pence attend the interfaith National Prayer Service, held at the Washington National Cathedral.

Late last night we were out to dinner and a couple came in in trump memorabilia. we started chatting and the woman was the former tour manager for 3 doors down. One of the guys was texting with her, while we were talking, telling her how awesome playing was.

If you really want to show your opposition to fascism, definitely smash store windows and sucker punch people in the street, because fascists hate stuff like that. There's just to much material. For some reason overweight women think if they wear big clothing it will make them look smaller. It doesn't work that way. It just makes her look like a giant balloon. I think the color would look good on her just not so much material.

RE dressing larger women.
I finally came to the conclusion . . . there's no hiding large girth. One can slightly minimize the looks of it--but not by a great deal.
In past years and areas, there have been tendencies of some large women to wear large tent sorts of styles in very very bright printed flower patterns. That will sure splash one's eyes with plenty of color.
I finally decided that--given that there's no hiding their 'whaleness,' more power to them to wear whatever color, pattern and shaped dress THEY enjoyed. And hang everyone else's opinions--which were likely to be negative, REGARDLESS of what sort of 'tent' they wore, anyway.
