Another Black Man Has Died in the Home of Democratic Donor Ed Buck
Community leaders were outraged when the L.A. County District Attorney refused to prosecute Buck last year. Now another young man is dead.

The body of another young black man has been found at the West Hollywood apartment of Ed Buck — a prominent Democratic donor who allegedly has a fetish for drugging sex workers — reports Wehoville.
Buck, a white man in his 60s, was investigated previously by authorities after the death of Gemmel Moore, who died of a methamphetamine overdose in Buck's home in July 2017. Since Moore's death was classified as an accidental overdose, numerous young black gay men have alleged that Buck has a fetish for shooting drugs into black men he picks up off the street or on hookup sites. Moore had written about Buck injecting him with dangerous drugs before his death. ...
The name of the person who died in Buck's home in the early hours of Monday has not been released. Wehoville described him as a young African-American man and featured a picture of a body being removed on a gurney. ...

A young black man died in the home of prominent Democratic donor Ed Buck.
The man's body was found in Buck's West Hollywood apartment, Advocate reports.
The Democratic donor "allegedly has a fetish for drugging sex workers," and was previously investigated after a man named Genmel Moore died of a methamphetamine overdose in Buck's home in 2017. The death was deemed an accidental overdose; however, several young gay black men have claimed Buck "has a fetish for shooting drugs into black men he picks up off the street or on hookup sites."
"I’ve become addicted to drugs and the worst one at that," Moore wrote in his journal before he died. "Ed Buck is the one to thank. He gave me my first injection of crystal meth."
The Los Angeles County District Attorney did not file charges against Buck, citing "insufficient evidence."

Jan. 07--A man's body was found early Monday in the West Hollywood home of prominent Democratic donor Ed Buck, whose attorney confirmed the death.
The man died in Buck's Laurel Avenue apartment between midnight and 2 a.m., Buck's attorney, Seymour Amster, said. His name has not been released.

It bears repeating. And raises the questions of why a Democrat donor gets a pass when dead people are 'found' in his house. What of the drugs? Of "constructive possession"--or did the area get 'sanitized' first (tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice). Other speculation raises even uglier possibilities.

Ted Lieu says he doesn't want Ed Buck's money, will give contributions to civil rights groups

After the body of a black man was found in longtime Democratic donor Ed Buck’s West Hollywood apartment this week, U.S. Rep. Ted Lieu announced he will donate more than $18,000 in campaign contributions he received from Buck to LGBTQ and African American civil rights organizations.
Buck’s Laurel Avenue apartment has been the scene of the apparent overdose deaths of two black men in the last two years, authorities said.
“I am deeply disturbed by the latest revelations of a second death by overdose at the home of Ed Buck,†Lieu (D-Torrance) said in a statement Tuesday afternoon. “While we await the results of the law enforcement investigation, I am going to donate the contributions I have received from Mr. Buck to my federal campaign.â€
Lieu said he will donate $5,000 to Lambda Legal; $5,000 to the NAACP; $3,000 to GLAAD; $3,000 to The Trevor Project; and $2,500 to the Equality California Institute. ...

Long before a second man died in the political donor's home, writer Jasmyne Cannick has been publishing accounts from his alleged victims.

When authorities in Los Angeles found Timothy Dean dead in the apartment of Ed Buck, a Democratic activist and campaign donor, early Monday morning, Jasmyne Cannick was not surprised. Just six months ago, Cannick had posted a warning on Twitter that something like this might happen.
“If another young, Black gay man overdoses or worse dies at Democratic donor Ed Buck’s apartment it’s going to be the fault of the sheriff’s dept and L.A. District Atty for not stopping him when they had the opportunity to,†Cannick wrote on Twitter in late July. ...
In July 2017, Gemmel Moore, a 26-year-old black man, died from a methamphetamine overdose in Buck’s apartment. Shortly afterward, Cannick followed a tip from a colleague and reached out to Moore’s friends and family, who had discovered a journal among the possessions returned with Moore’s body. They were disturbed by what they said they found: Moore’s journal said that Buck got him hooked on meth and had drugged him against his will.
Since Moore’s death, Cannick has collected a trove of information in an attempt to make the case that Ed Buck is a “predator†who preys on down-on-their-luck black men by by inviting them to his apartment and suggesting they try methamphetamine injections, or “slamming.â€
Cannick conducted interviews with first-hand sources: men who said they went to Buck’s apartment for paid sex and drugs, several of whom told her that Buck offered them more money for the chance to administer an injection of crystal methamphetamine, the most dangerous way to take a dangerous drug. All of her reports are published on her personal website. ...
Now, over a year after Cannick first started to investigate Moore’s death and warn authorities that Buck is a “predator,†friends and family members of the deceased, along with LGBTQ and black activists in L.A. and beyond, are speaking out and asking why authorities did not more aggressively investigate Moore’s fatal drug overdose in Buck’s home. ... According to the coroner’s report Investigator’s Narrative, Ed Buck told sheriff’s deputies that Timothy Dean “used a piece of clothing to make a noose†that he tied around his neck. Dean, 55, was found dead in Buck’s West Hollywood apartment on January 7. He was the second Black gay man to die in the white Democratic major donors apartment. Similar to 26-year-old Gemmel Moore, who has died in Buck’s apartment 18 months earlier, Dean’s death was also ruled an accidental meth overdose.
According to investigators, Ed Buck claimed to remove the “noose†from around Dean’s neck and that he then began to throwing clothes up in the air at which point Buck decided to get up and take a shower.

If you’ve followed my reporting on Ed Buck and how he interacts with his victims then you know that one of the recurring themes with all of the men is that Buck does not leave them alone in his apartment. In fact, he’s so paranoid about the Black men he lets into his house that he has mirrors all over the place so that he can always watch you from anywhere. So him going to the bathroom to take a shower while his guest is demonstrating “bizarre behavior†as he told investigators is unbelievable. ...
