Ocasio-Cortez: I Acknowledge My ‘Privilege’ in Being Born ‘Cisgendered’
‘That is a privilege I have no matter how poor my family was when I was born’
Jan 30, 2019 5:30 PM
By Tom Elliott
TRANSCRIPT:
OCASIO-CORTEZ: “They’re like, and we need to — you know, they say discrimination or unfair incarceration of black men, and then they pause and the crowd cheers, and it’s like, in their mind, they’re like ‘you’re welcome’ for acknowledging it. And it’s like, okay, acknowledging racism is a really big step. It’s a really big step from where we were. But you’re right, it’s nowhere near enough and the solutions are so painful. Frankly, I find it — I find the solutions for white communities to be very painful because it’s very painful for a community to understand and have go through this — like, you can be — the idea that you can be poor and benefit from the color of your skin does not compute for a lot of people. And going through that realization is very painful or even just economically for people that were born with silver spoons. It’s very painful to admit that you had advantages and it’s just — “
GRIM: “Look what happened to Brett Kavanaugh when he was confronted. He melted down in front of the whole country.â€
OCASIO-CORTEZ: “Oh my God — it literally is an identity meltdown, it’s a fundamental — “
GRIM: “I worked for everything I ever had.â€
OCASIO-CORTEZ: “Yeah. And, like, that is the majority of a lot of communities, how a lot of communities feel. And it’s because, if you haven’t had a transition in your life where, you know, you were maybe born poor or born without certain privileges and then especially as you transition into having certain privileges in your life, you actually see and feel and sense and taste and smell all of the differences. If you’ve never experienced different treatment in your life, you wouldn’t know what different treatment feels like or looks like. And it’s really, really hard. I mean, it’s like — and we can all, almost every single person in this country can acknowledge some privilege of some of some type, you know. I’m a cisgendered woman. I will never know the trauma of feeling like I’m not born in the right body. And that is a privilege that I have, no matter how poor my family was when I was born. But it’s really hard for some people to admit that they — you know, it’s part of this weird American Dream mythology that we have, that for a lot of — in a lot of circumstances isn’t as true or isn’t as clearly communicated as we’d like for it, or we wish it was.â€
GRAY: “Yeah, I’m working on it maybe. Maybe next piece on privileged dialogues on how to make it more constructive.â€
GRIM: “Look forward to that one.â€
GRAY: “My mentions don’t.â€
OCASIO-CORTEZ: “It’s hard. I don’t envy you.â€

I certainly hope she is sterile. We can't afford to let her reproduce.
-
Methinks OC has been misinformed. It is much more likely that she was born Stupegendered. I blame her parents.
-
Why isn't she having sex with trannies and bull dykes? Bigotry?
-
What AOC lacks in intelligence, she more than makes up for in stupidity
-
What jumped out at me more than her stupid "cisgendered" comment was where she said the American Dream is a myth.
-
I hate to reveal my ignorance, but I have no idea what "cisgendered" means.
(And I ain't going to bother looking it up!)
-

She clearly is lying.... since she wouldn't be where she is (in Congress) if the American Dream was a myth. But the idiot left has to say that.... since they're busy trying to turn the American Dream (back) into a nightmare.... like it was under Obama.
-
No apology for her Caucasian Privilege growing up in one of the richest areas of the world Westchester NY?

Cisgender (often abbreviated to simply cis) is a term for people whose gender identity matches the sex that they were assigned at birth. It is the opposite of the term transgender.

Ahh, so that means normal folk!

Ahh, so that means normal folk!
Only.... in her case, that's not applicable.
-
Well, it may be the only thing "normal" about her.
-
I learned a new word today! Shoulda taken more sociology and queer studies courses back in college. Of course, the courses I did take allowed me to get a good-paying job. I guess I should acknowledge my "privilege" in using my head for something other than a hat rack.
-
American universities are now largely places of fabricated words and muddle-headed ideas that maintain an increasingly tenuous relationship with objective reality.
But their influence on the dominant culture remains, such that (as in this instance) it is somehow considered a "privilege" to be normal.
You can't cure stupid. But you can send it to Congress, or make it a celebrity. Or in some cases, both.
-
Cisgendered is a bu11$h!t leftist word, made up and I won't use it.
The transcript reveals a depth of ignorance that is stupefying. She makes no sense except in her indoctrinated skull contents- can't call them brains- so small, the birds can't land.
-
Am I the only one that every time I see her in an interview I'm left with a "WTF" feeling?
-
Has any cis gendered identified male ever step up and say he had crazy monkey sex with this freak? I don't think she has ever been laid.

Exactly. When will Sandy from the Burbs do penance for her upper middle class upbringing - and privilege?
-

No. You aren't. I think most normal people are in the same boat, as am I.
But I am beginning to wonder if the East Coast hasn't been bug bombed with some 'stupid' drug in the water supply, or tainted flour (ergot), or brain eating amoebas or something.

Careful, boy. They find any part of you in that, in NY they can rip you to shreds.
-
And only 30, she's bound to run for the nomination of her party some day.
-
Why isn't she having sex with trannies and bull dykes? Bigotry?
@rustynail
How do you know she isn't?
No photos,please.

Cisgender (often abbreviated to simply cis) is a term for people whose gender identity matches the sex that they were assigned at birth. It is the opposite of the term transgender.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cisgender
The definition is based on the false premise that one is "assigned" a sex at birth, rather than having one's sex observed and recorded.
A correct English definition would be "term popular in the feverswamps of the left for persons not afflicted with the delusion that they are the opposite sex from that testified to by their chromosomes and exhibited primary and secondary sexual characteristics".

OK. So we tag her as a homophobe for dog whistle perpetuating the gender/pay glass ceiling by claiming she was 'Lucky'.
If you write sentences with multiple qualifying clauses, beating Libs at their own game is always a given.
