Homeland Security chairman sees no way Trump's idea to transfer migrants to sanctuary cities is legal
By Chris Mills Rodrigo - 04/14/19 10:46 AM EDT

Homeland Security chairman Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said Sunday that he sees no way for President Trump's idea to transfer detained migrants to "sanctuary cities" to be legal.

“No I don’t," Thompson said on ABC's "This Week" when asked whether he sees any way proposal which Trump confirmed was being considered could be done legally.

“More importantly, this is again his manufactured chaos that he has created over the last 2 years on the border.”

“Before Donald Trump took office, we had a situation that was manageable. We had spikes but it also went down. But what we have now is a constant pushing of the system so that it doesn’t work.”
