The 16-year-old suspect in the Colorado school shooting will be tried as an adult.
Maya McKinney, who is transgender and goes by the name Alec McKinney, will be tried as an adult after being accused, along with 18-year-old Devon Erickson, of shooting up the STEM School Highlands Ranch leaving one student dead and eight others wounded. In Colorado, 16 is the youngest age that someone can be charged as an adult.
McKinney and Erickson are each facing 48 charges, including first-degree murder and attempted murder, NBC affiliate News 5 reports. Authorities say that the two broke into a locked gun cabinet at Erickson’s house and stole the guns used in the shooting.

Jeep People Honor School Shooting Victim and Fellow Jeep Fan Kendrick Castillo With 600 Jeep Procession

Last week there was another school shooting in the U.S., this time at a charter school just south of Denver, Colorado called STEM School Highlands Ranch. Kendrick Castillo, whom many are hailing as a hero for his efforts in subduing the gunman, was murdered saving the lives of his fellow students. The Jeep community learned that Castillo was a Jeep fan, so on Wednesday, CBS Denver reports, that community has planned a special procession in Castillo’s honor.
Take a look at the screenshot above, and you’ll see a young man standing in front of his beloved XJ. It’s a beautiful machine: a Forest Green ‘97 to ‘01-style model with Jeep Wrangler Rubicon JK wheels, a ~4.5-inch lift kit, some LED headlights, and the spare tire mounted to an aftermarket roof-rack. All in all, it’s really tasteful and well done.
Between that image and others like it, it’s clear that Castillo, who lost his life last Tuesday after he “pushed the gunman against a wall†and ultimately helped stop the perpetrator according to NBC’s interview with Castillo’s friend, was a real Jeep fan. And now, to honor one of their own, the Jeep community in Colorado has organized a Jeep procession.

Yes we have it, but no our democrat governors (Hickenlooper and Pollis) would never allow it. Nathan Dunlap (Chuck E. Cheese murderer) should have been executed years ago. 9999hair out0000

Under no circumstances will the girl be executed. Her mental state may well preclude her from trial by reason of incompetence. With any luck she will be locked up in a mental institution for decades.

PA has the death penalty too, but it is seldom actually used. We've had killers on death row for decades. One of two serial killers on death row just recently died in prison -- he had been on death row for 30 years. His partner in crime had his death sentence reduced to life without parole.
More recently, the Democrat governor declared a moratorium on executions -- supposedly until the allegedly unfair application of the death penalty to minorities is carefully studied. In other words, the death penalty has been repealed by executive order, although no one will say so officially. But as I said, the death penalty hasn't been carried out anyway for years, so it doesn't really matter.

Just thinking out loud: When/if convicted where will she/he be held? If convicted as an adult they should go to an adult facility, but at sixteen they generally go to Juvie. They have separate male and female housing. Even in the felony confinement areas the males are kept strictly away from the females. I worked at one up north for several years and they were stiect onthe confinement rules.

The $ amount spent per year to house inmates, is ridiculous.
I say viscious guard dogs, electrified barbed wire, bread water, hard labor.
Life means life. And total publicity blackout.
Make "punishment" hurt, instead of a coddled life of ease.

While she is in prison we will undoubtable have to foot the bill for her gender reassignment surgery before we put her to death.
