Surely the military isn't going to fat shame, fat ass, overweight military personnel by making them lose weight?  That would be unwoke.

I read somewhere that the B-1B's Achille's Heel was a weak airframe.

Since it was orginally designed to be a long-range strategic (nuclear) bomber, they gave it an airframe that was adequate for a few, long, high altitude missions.  The B-1B's use as a tactical bomber and for close troop support stressed its airframe more, and in ways, it wasn't designed to accomodate.  Frequent lower altitude missions casued the airframe to age out early.

If the B-1B had a durable airframe like the B-52 and the B-2, it would have a longer service life.

Advocates urge Austin to act on active duty obesity ‘epidemic’

The military must take swift, decisive action to address obesity in the ranks, according to a new letter sent to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Wednesday by a group of more than 50 individuals and organizations, including 21 retired senior military leaders.

The letter, spearheaded by the American Security Project, urges defense leaders to strike at the core of the problem on five fronts related to prevention, identification and treatment of obesity in the military.

“This crisis has far-reaching impacts on readiness and retention,” wrote the group, which also includes health experts and advocacy organizations.

The missive follows a study released by the organization last year showing that more than two-thirds of active duty members are overweight or obese. About 1 out of 5 active duty members meet the clinical standard for obesity.

*****rollingeyes***** Well, I've learned that Chick-fil-A has plans to open 9 new stores in the SF Bay Area (probably none near Oakland International).

*****rollingeyes***** Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! restaurant chain will be expanding in Northern California, https://napavalleyregister.com/life-entertainment/local/food-drink/american-canyon-guy-fieri-chicken-guy/article_4faa9340-fddf-11ee-a7c4-df6b9e624888.html .

I know California-Bashers don't like to hear it, but only small areas of California resemble SF or Oakland or the Land of LA.

Biden Responds to Trump's Challenge to Debate Before November
Spencer Brown

In an interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM Friday morning, President Joe Biden said he would square off against former President Donald Trump before November's election after the presumptive GOP nominee repeatedly issued challenges to his Democrat opponent.

"I am, somewhere," Biden told Stern when asked if he'd debate Trump. The president said he "didn't know" when the debate would take place but insisted he was "happy to debate" his challenger. Time will tell whether Biden meant what he said or if this turns out to be another incorrect pronouncement uttered by the octogenarian commander-in-chief.

As Townhall reported earlier this year, Trump has repeatedly challenged Biden to face him in a general election debate as they slog through a rematch of the 2020 showdown.

"It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People," Trump said in one post on Truth Social. "Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE! The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD)," the former president quipped. "I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!"

 Gateway Pundit Declares Bankruptcy

“TGP Communications, the parent company of The Gateway Pundit, recently made the decision to seek protection under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the Southern District of Florida as a result of the progressive liberal lawfare attacks against our media outlet.”

Thursday, Gateway Pundit founder Jim Hoft posted the following statement to his long-time blog:

    April 24, 2024
    A message from our Founder:

TGP Communications, the parent company of The Gateway Pundit, recently made the decision to seek protection under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the Southern District of Florida as a result of the progressive liberal lawfare attacks against our media outlet.

This is not an admission of fault or culpability. This is a common tool for reorganization and to consolidate litigation when attacks are coming from all sides. It allows TGP to consolidate this lawfare in one court for ultimate resolution.

Despite the radical left’s efforts to silence The Gateway Pundit through censorship, de-platforming, de-banking, cut-off from advertisers, and other financial strategies, we will not be deterred from our mission of remaining fearless and being one of the most trusted independent media outlets in America today. We do not expect that to change.
