Several high-profile Senate Democrats warned the Supreme Court in pointed terms this week that it could face a fundamental restructuring if justices do not take steps to "heal" the court in the near future.
The ominous and unusual warning was delivered as part of a brief filed Monday in a case related to a New York City gun law. Sens. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., referenced rulings by the court's conservative majority in claiming it is suffering from some sort of affliction which must be remedied.
"The Supreme Court is not well. And the people know it," the brief said. "Perhaps the Court can heal itself before the public demands it be 'restructured in order to reduce the influence of politics.'"
The last part was quoting language from a Quinnipiac University poll, in which 51 percent favored such restructuring. In the same poll, 55 percent believed the Supreme Court was "motivated by politics" more than by the law.
Dramatic changes to the Supreme Court have been proposed by several Democrats vying for their party's 2020 presidential nomination, with "court-packing" being a common -- though highly controversial -- suggestion. Increasing the number of justices on the court would allow the president to shift the balance on the bench by loading up justices of his or her preference.
Democratic candidates, including former Rep. Beto O’Rourke of Texas, and Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Kamala Harris of California, and Gillibrand, all have signaled an openness to expanding the number of judges on the court should they reach the White House.

No, the only reason we can't have those nice things is because there are too many people running around who think it's not enough to deprive me of that Uzi, they also want the National government to have a detailed inventory of what I am presently "allowed" to have. I'll keep that list to myself, thank you (and make no mistake: I have a list. I just ran the post-move inventory, and cross-checked the Serials for good measure. I discovered I hadn't updated it since my most recent acquisitions). Even my Insurance agent doesn't have that list.

They don't need an inventory (complete with Serials) in AZ, they just needed to know the total value. They will only cover $20K worth.
The "insurance" parroted by the grabbers is a whole other animal, they want insurance priced by the National Government, which you can bet your last dollar will be high enough to keep most people priced out of it. They think we are fooles, and call us "extremist" when we refuse to play.

They will then go after all the federal judges confirmed during his Administration.
I cannot believe what's happened to us, as a People.
IMO, this all started with equal rights/equal pay for Women.
Roe v Wade...not in a sense of keeping the African-American population under control, but as a parachute to grab for poor choices and/or stupidity and/or laziness.
I'm all for equal pay, opportunities for women...just pointing out the consequences of killing offspring in the womb.

I recall times before "maternity leave". Because a woman might become pregnant, executive level positions were rare.
Also recall women not making as much as men doing the same job. Feeling was that a man's money was to raise a household...a woman's was to supplement as a 2nd income.

Sometimes a woman has to support her household and it's just not right to be paid more or less depending one's sex, and not one's worth. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
Now, Roe v. Wade - that's a different story, and one that should be discussed, beyond the obvious and oft-stated fact that the founder was trying to get rid of "inferior" peoples.
