Biden camp urges supporters to 'campaign like we're trailing': report

Democratic nominee Joe Biden's campaign is urging supporters not to “become complacent†despite polling that shows the former vice president leading President Trump nationally and in key battleground states, adding that supporters should “campaign like we’re trailing.â€
In a memo obtained by The Washington Post, Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said that with almost two weeks left until Election Day, supporters should not automatically assume that Biden is guaranteed to win.
“We cannot become complacent because the very searing truth is that Donald Trump can still win this race, and every indication we have shows that this thing is going to come down to the wire,†Dillon reportedly wrote in the memo.
Dillon cited the 2016 election, in which then-Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton lost the electoral college despite winning the popular vote and numerous polls predicting a victory for the former secretary of State.

Joe Biden’s polling edge over President Trump eroded this week amid The Post’s scandalous revelations about his son Hunter’s foreign dealings — but the Democratic candidate still maintains a substantial lead.
The IBD/TIPP national tracking poll, released Saturday, puts Biden at 50 percent in the head-to-head matchup, with Trump at 43 percent. The 7-point advantage is well outside the survey’s 3 percent margin of error.
But the poll of 1,009 likely voters saw Biden’s support slip by just over 2 percentage points since Monday — and found an increase of just under 1 percent for the incumbent. ...
