Jeffrey Epstein arrested for sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York: Report

Billionaire Jeffrey Epstein has been arrested for allegedly sex trafficking minors in Florida and New York between 2002 and 2005.
The 66-year-old registered sex offender will appear in court in New York on Monday, the Daily Beast reported.
The arrest comes after a New York federal appeals court ordered last week the release of 2,000 pages of judicial documents related to Epstein and his partner Ghislaine Maxwell, who were suspected of taking part in an international sex trafficking operation.

Trump was/is his friend. Went to parties at Epstein's New York City home. Years ago, an underage girl, sued Trump for having sex with her more than once, in that house. Trump flew with Epstein in Epstein's airplane. Do not know if he went to Epstein's island - Bill Clinton did go to his island. None of this info. is new.

Here's a video of the attorney for some of Epstein’s victims being interviewed. The first video is cued to where the interviewer asks him about Trump being friends with Epstein, hoping to get something salacious. What he got instead was that out of all the wealthy people the lawyer called, most said call my lawyers but Trump said, let’s talk, I’ll give you as much time as you need and Trump ended up giving the attorney a lot of helpful information. There's also a confirmation that Trump banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago after he learned Epstein used the charity events to recruit girls. The second video is the interview in full.

There was some initial reluctance to investigate, because it started as a local Palm Beach case. Once the FBI investigation began, it was called Operation Leap Year. The gathered evidence became a 53 page indictment. The FBI isn’t the party that dropped the ball, here.
When deals are made by the US Attorney offices, that falls under the Attorney General’s purview not the FBI Director. When the deal was made, in 2007, it would have been either Gonzalez or Mukaskey.

However, he was not sent to state prison and was allowed “work release†to his office for 12 hours a day, six days a week. Epstein served 13 months in jail before being released on probation.
Cernovich’s battle to unseal the records began with a filing on January 19, 2017, with an intervention to unseal the summary judgement record on the Epstein case. He was joined in this motion by attorney Alan Dershowitz and the Miami Herald, which has closely investigated the Epstein story.

A joint FBI-New York Police Department task force arrested Epstein when the 66-year-old touched down in New Jersey's Teterboro Airport after a flight from Paris where he was on vacation. The case could shed new light not only on the allegations, which span years and countries, but also on the extent to which officials who have been linked to Mr. Epstein — including, most notably, President Trump and his labor secretary, Alexander Acosta — knew about or downplayed them.

1. We don't know if the above is true. Too early. It may be, but it may not be. (Keep in mind that this bare bones indictment merely served to get the ball rolling, so to speak. It is almost guaranteed that superseding indictment(s) will be filed.... the content of those may certainly contain many more serious charges.)
2. If these girls were under the age of consent in the various jurisdictions, it doesn't matter if they had "loose morals" and were "sexually active," crimes were committed.

Trump was charged a number of years ago, plus not long ago, by an underage girl, of having rough sex with her more than once, at Epstein's townhouse. She was kept there by Epstein. Trump's lawyer got the case put off more than once, and she finally gave up; maybe a judge dropped the case. At one time I had that information, don't think I kept it. I can find it again for more details.

From the first time I heard the quote from Trump about Epstein liking younger women, I’ve always thought it wasn’t admiration, but a subtle dis from Trump. The whole thing just reads strange. Trump does that often. He says really nice things about someone and then adds a little dig.
I’m in no way a Trump lover. I support him as President, but I don’t like his personality at all. Unlike Bill Clinton there is no evidence that he ever went to the island. He flew in the plane twice. That could have been an attempt by Epstein to get blackmailing material against Trump. He had Trumps number in his phone book, but he also had Ivana and Ivanka’s number in there, too. I think this is just more crap being thrown at the fan. I’m not concerned about it.

I read a ton of stuff yesterday (and I wished that I saved the articles and links, I'm sure that I will stumble upon them again in the coming days and will ping you) that illustrated how Acosta operated within the process leading up to (and after) the plea deal. In short, he sold out the interests of the victims by withholding legally required notifications amongst other actions, and he unethically (and perhaps illegally) conspired (yes, loaded word, chosen deliberately) with the defense throughout the process.
There was no genuine fear of JE walking as they had multiple victims willing to testify. That lie was merely a justification for the horrendous actions of the prosecution.
The "I was only following orders" defense doesn't work for the United States Attorney.

Trump's lawyer got the case put off more than once, and she finally gave up; maybe a judge dropped the case. At one time I had that information, don't think I kept it. I can find it again for more details.
He wasn't "charged" at all, he was "accused" by an anonymous person. The reason that the case never progressed is that the accuser's existence could never be validated.

From the first time I heard the quote from Trump about Epstein liking younger women, I’ve always thought it wasn’t admiration, but a subtle dis from Trump. The whole thing just reads strange. Trump does that often. He says really nice things about someone and then adds a little dig.
I’m in no way a Trump lover. I support him as President, but I don’t like his personality at all. Unlike Bill Clinton there is no evidence that he ever went to the island. He flew in the plane twice. That could have been an attempt by Epstein to get blackmailing material against Trump. He had Trumps number in his phone book, but he also had Ivana and Ivanka’s number in there, too. I think this is just more crap being thrown at the fan. I’m not concerned about it.

I read a ton of stuff yesterday (and I wished that I saved the articles and links, I'm sure that I will stumble upon them again in the coming days and will ping you) that illustrated how Acosta operated within the process leading up to (and after) the plea deal. In short, he sold out the interests of the victims by withholding legally required notifications amongst other actions, and he unethically (and perhaps illegally) conspired (yes, loaded word, chosen deliberately) with the defense throughout the process.
There was no genuine fear of JE walking as they had multiple victims willing to testify. That lie was merely a justification for the horrendous actions of the prosecution.
The "I was only following orders" defense doesn't work for the United States Attorney.

IF that is true,Epstein now has an official expiration date. That date is the day before the hearing starts. Never mind Bubba. He's just the most obvious,and truly I doubt he will lose a minute of sleep over it because he knows he will never face charges.
I have no doubt there will be plenty of names on that list of less well-known people who have the ability to be as dangerous as Bubba at his best. People who,if named and indicted WOULD be charged and put on trial. There is just no way they can allow this to happen because it would destroy their empires and put them in prison for life.
I doubt Epstein would even live out a 5 year sentence. He's not stupid,so he has to know this.

I would have to say that *I* think it is a bit of a stretch to say willingly. Almost all were certainly runaways that ended up having to hook to eat and have a place to sleep. One thing led to another,and there they were,putting out for huge wads of cash for millionaires. Given that many of them had most likely put out for crackheads for a ten dollar bill in the past,doing the same for wads of 100's with clean old men who were good for one time only,if that,HAD to see like a huge step up in life.

The scandal is compounded because
*Epstein's pedophilia was apparently well-known by the rich and famous in NYC and South Florida;
*his first offense--for multiple young girls--resulted in a very light sentence; and
*the victims in the first round were apparently not even notified before the deal was struck and had no chance to speak before sentencing.
The original US Attorney is now a Trump cabinet member. Uggh. Were higher-ups at DOJ involved in sweeping this under the rug the first time?
Did others participate in this pedophelia with Epstein? The investigation should be thorough..
We need to know more about this disgusting exploitation of underage girls and the full extent of the previous miscarriage of justice needs to be exposed. Of course, anybody who is charged is presumed innocent until convicted. But, remember, Epstein has already been convicted once of similar offenses.

The strategy worked. Epstein’s team secured the deal of the millennium, one utterly unlike anything else I’ve seen in 25 years of practicing federal criminal law. Epstein agreed to plead guilty to state charges, register as a sex offender, and spend 13 months in county jail, during which time he was allowed to spend 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, out of the jail on “work release.†In exchange, the Southern District of Florida abandoned its criminal investigation of Epstein’s conduct, agreed not to prosecute him federally, and—incredibly—agreed not to prosecute anyone else who helped him procure underage girls for sex. In the early 90s, there were a number of shady types and criminals around the Clintons. They were never implicated with them, but everyone knew the were crooked as sticks in water. It’s continued to bear out, over time. Don’t be shocked if something similar occurs, during this admin.

There’s no question the connection to Epstein in Clinton goes more in depth than either has said. It’s also true that both Clinton and Trump are comfortable casual liars. Also, keep in mind that the Access Hollywood tape of Trump’s famous comments was made in 2005. Given the timeframe and what we know about Epstein and his connections, I wonder what gave Trump the idea he could be so cavalier about how rich and famous people could do whatever they want with women?

It was, said Epstein attorney Reid Weingarten, "an agreement that was consummated and agreed to all the way up to Main Justice at a very, very high level."

The only explanation for this, based on the confusing information available, would be that someone very high up wanted this to be settled and over, quickly. There was obviously more going on and in other jurisdictions. It reeks. That press conference only created more questions than it answered.
